I have looked at over 100 diffrent kinds of belt grinders/ sander and cant find a really good 2x 72 belt grinder for under 2 grand. is their any other good quality belt sanders or grinder thats under $1000? if so please leave a link.

ask the mods to move this into the knifemaker ShopTalk section. you’ll get more answers there.

If you want to keep it under 1K , you will need to build it yourself. Google Oregon Blade Maker, or Reeder
I dont know of any 2 X 72 that is plug and play for under 1000.
I just did 2 months of research on this subject. I went with the Reeder.

several grinder kits are available for under $1000. I have a Wilmont LB1000. http://www.wilmontgrinders.com/Pages/LBGrinder.aspx the kit with wheels is $825 + shipping. a 1 or 1 1/2 Hp 3 phase motor and VFD will be another $300 to $400.

I got an AMK 77 early on and it has been great, you just pull a pin and it rotates a fixture where you have either your flat platen or a 12' wheel to grind on--it is mainly made of Aluminum but it is plenty stout and a really good machine--it also comes with a KBAC vfd wired and ready to go--a feature you will really appreciate as time goes by--variable speed is the shiznet!!
