I'm totally new to knife making, and would like to get started in this craft. I want to make knives starting with the blacksmithing steps used to flesh out the basic shape of the knife, having started with an iron bar.
To do this, I need to buy a knife forge. At this point, I don't want to make one. I'd like to buy a new, manufactured gas forge, and need some advice on what forge to buy. I have a large workshop with an excellent chimney to handle exhaust. I could use natural gas or go with propane, but my preference would be to use natural gas if there aren't downsides. I want to buy a good forge that will be powerful enough to do what a forge should do, and I want it to be well designed and a quality product.
Any help in getting me aimed in the right direction on buying a forge will be much appreciated!
