What Kind Of Knife Is This??

It is a prop. and you can buy it at just about any big time online retailer, search for it on amazon or do a google shopping search. however attempting to use that toy as an actual knife/machete/sword would be foolish and dangerous. If you want a big knife that's real then check out a Khukri from Himalayan Imports, or some of the larger offerings from the various companies represented here on the forums. Unless you are just a big fan of the movie and want to hang it on your wall, don't waste your money.

What kind of information are you looking for? I doubt anything has changed. Crain is still a thief and Frost still make junk knives.

Hi,

Yeah, I agree I did a search on YouTube.com and the reviewers advise not using it, it is just a show piece. :jerkit: What would be a similar style knife/machete that is actually meant to use?

He takes people's money and then never delivers a knife. There is a ton more information than I can provide in The Good, Bad, Ugly forum. A quick search will turn up lots of reading material.

BabyJWoo, check out a few of these big knives for a real user:

Ontario: RTAK2, Spec Plus series, Ranger RD9
KaBar: Becker BK9, Large Heavy Bowie
Cold Steel: Trailmaster, Loredo Bowie, Natchez Bowie, Black Bear Classic, Gurkha Kukri
ESEE/Rat Cutlery: Junglas

Himalayan Imports: anything they make
Busse Combat: Battle Mistress varieties

these are all good knives and should get you started, if you see something else you like make a post about it, you'll usually get dozens of opinions, and the people here know a great deal about knives/steel/engineering etc.

Hi, many nice knives there, but I don't see anything close to the dimensions of the Predator knife :(

How about a tramontina 14" jungle knife? Long enough and cuts through vegetation as well.

well to be fair the Predator knife is an intentionally oversized movie prop put there for dramatic effect. A real knife that size would be too large to function well as a knife, and too heavy, thick and short to make a very good machete. It's something more akin to a short sword. if none of those are big enough for you then check out some machetes or swords. Cold Steel and Cas Hanwei make some decent carbon steel products that are actually combat grade.
