I'm looking to buy a new EDC knife but am not sure what to buy. I'm looking for something with a blade length of 3" or less. I want something that's very durable and strong, but also stays sharp an doesn't go dull easy. Only thing is I don't want to spend a whole lot like 60 bucks or less. I know it's not a whole lot but what's the best knife I can get for the money? I've been looking at the kershaw leek and skyline but not sure. PLEASE HELP!

For a knife under $60 I would try the Ontario Rat 2 only $30 with AUS-8 steel and a liner lock. They are well made knives for the price and should hold up well for edc.

+1 on the Ontario RAT 2. I had the RAT 1 and it held up very well to some hard use tasks when I had a job pouring and finishing concrete. The RAT series from Ontario is very hard to beat for the money.

Way to be a dick

Your second post on this forum? Not the best way to make friends.

Everyone wants what you seek.

The trick is to Find the balance in the materials and construction in a knife to meet YOUR needs.

Not everybody uses knives in the same way or for the same purposes.

It did make me laugh though. Should have been "way to be a dick, :p"

If you're going to say something about another poster, do your best to say something that won't incite hostility. The mods won't be happy to trudge through a flame war.

As for the knife, it's gonna depend on what you want to use it for. The Leek is a great knife but it's on the thin side, be more cautious with lateral forces.

Spend $10 - $20 more and get a Delica or mini-grip. Money well spent. I'd lean towards the mini-grip. Fantastic EDC.
If you like traditional knives, check out a GEC (Great Eastern Cutlery) #15

+1 for the Ontario Rat 1 and 2.. At $30 a piece you can get both sizes and stay in your budget.

Also look at the Cold Steel Mini Recon 1. Awesome durability with the Triad Lock. I got mine just under $40

The Composite Blade Leek is just over $60 retail (can probably find it for less on the secondary market). The CPM-D2 will have better edge retention than the standard Sandvik 14C28N (which is also no slouch of a steel). The Skyline is also a great knife. It does come in some higher-end steels, but those will run closer to $100. The Delica can also be found for just under $60, and it uses VG-10 steel. The Dragonfly in ZDP-189 runs just a bit over $60.

The blade on the Leek measures right at 3". The Skyline is a hair over. The Delica is around 2.5", and Dragonfly is a little under 2". The Leek, Skyline, and Delica are all knives that have spent a lot of time in my EDC rotation (the Leek probably getting the most use), and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of those three.
