What kind of polishing compound for WSKT-KO belts?

I have a WSKT-KO, and have heard that putting some compound on the extra fine belt can increase performance.
What kind of compound do you recommend. I already have a bunch of Flitz at home. Would something that simple work? or should I go to a straight up stropping compound? Jeweler's rouge? If so, what kind/color do you recommend for this application?

It depends on the metal of the knives you're sharpening. If it's regular steel, then those green and red compounds ought to work. If it's a harder steel, then you might consider something I just learned about - CBN spray - second only to diamonds in hardness-- or what I'm considering - diamond paste. Bu if the extra fine belt has any grit, which I think it does then it's not going to work if you put any finer compound in it because the bigger grit in the belt will be what's effective. I think they offer linen belts for stropping for the regular WSKT-KO.

I have one but I just went straight to the blade grinder attachment as it really is light years in improvement. I know they offer linen stropping belts for that.

Ken schwarz offers linen belts for the KO work sharp, and I sometimes use those loaded with Flitz or diamond spray (depends on the steel)
They work fine, but honestly the polishing belts that are available (6k grit) work just as well if not better by themselves.

He's referring to the 12k stropping belt I believe...I use a highly worn one loaded with Emory... You don't wanna use anything less abrasive than the belt itself. I plan on getting another set of the linen belts and load em with cbn or diamond. Probably will go with 3.5 micron, 1 micron, .5 micron, and .01 micron

The green compound that comes with the linen belts works alright on average steels but didn't do much with s30v, and up. The red .01 compound that comes in that kit didn't make any notable difference in sharpeness or polish following the green compound.
