What kind of slip-joint?

I have seen a few slip joints around that have four blades: A clip, a sheepsfoot, a penblade and a coping blade? I bought a cheap little $13 one, and I've seen another one from GEC that was a lot nicer, but I've never known what the pattern name was. I thought it was an "executive" but I haven't had any luck with that on Google.

Kenny, you should post a picture of the knife in question or give the exact model of the GEC knife or one similar to it.

I guarantee someone around here will know what it is, no matter how obscure!

Kenny...

GEC calls it the Cattle Baron but try Cattleman's knife,be prepared there's alot of three blades

I just thought of something else Tuna Valley calls it the Cigar Stockman

Most of the ones I've seen with that combination of blades have been Congress patterns.

Anyway, yeah, you guys are right that it's a Congress...

Can anyone reccomend some nice ones? This one was all right, but I've been using it as a beater knife.

I like Queen Cutlery for USA made. Ebay will have some nice German knives like Boker, Henckles and Bulldog.

Case makes some nice ones with a blade configuration similar to your Steel Warrior only they have a Spear blade in place of the Clip blade.

Here's a shot of mine. Sorry, I don't have time to take a photo with the blades open.

Most four-bladed knives are on the congress pattern. GEC's congress has redundant blades- two pens and two sheepsfoot. Traditionally, the "master" blade on a congress pattern is a sheepfoot or a spear, it is unusual to see one with a clip point.
Here's my Case Congress:

And a GEC Congress:

GEC's "executive" pattern is a whittler, and does not have the blade configuration you've described.

Good luck!

Very nice and rare combination of blades on the Steel Warrior Congress Kenny. I believe you will look long and hard to duplicate it. Good Luck!

Ahh, so it's gonna be hard to find one with a clip blade? I keep finding ones with the spear blade instead of the clip--I'm not particularly fond of the clip though.

That last Northfield one looks great. There was another one I saw today in a thread called "Bloody Congress" that looked great too....

I wanted one to treat well because I like all the different blade choices and the sizes of them. The blades on mine were all barely over an inch, and I think that's gonna be the hard part to duplicate.

I might just get another Steel Warrior one. They're really well made actually ( fit and finish and all ), but I just don't like the scales on mine. Looks like there's a lot available though.
