What kind of sunglasses do you wear?

I used to love my Oakley polarized XX's But the lenses started to flake away. I figured I'd try something new so I picked up some Costa Del Mar Harpoons and they blow the Oakleys away.

They were cheaper and I even got the glass lenses in them. I dont think I'll ever buy anything but Costa from now on.

I seem to have a hard to fit face and a lot of sunglasses tend to ride too high on my nose for some reason. So, when I find a pair that fits I buy them, regardless of the brand name. I do check the UV rating, and perfer polarized lenses, but sometimes I just need to go with what I can find.
 
i wear prescription auto-tint glasses. Titanium frames with OSHA rated lenses that get darker in the sun. I get about 4 years from the lenses and 7 from the Ti frames.

Yes, they are expensive but, they are the reason I'm not blind now. I have had two very hard hits to the face that could/would have taken my vision had I not been protected. No kidding ... long runs of square tubing with a bolt in the end that buries your lense in your eye socket will get your attention!
 
I have a pair of spys, and von zippers. I only wear them with brown and white though.

I'm saving for some oakley inmates, or polarized gascans or canteens.

Bolle has some nice stuff too.

Seriously, they're the best glasses I've owned. Four years and still going strong. :thumbup:
 
I have always been a Ray Ban man. My wife liked a pair of Prada sunglasses on me, they were way too expensive, 3x the cost of my favorite Rayban models. They never did fit well. I had them on the top of my head as I was felling and limbing a tree in the backyard. I worked past sundown, and never found them till next morning in the leaf litter, I had stepped on them. It made me sick to think I could have a great knife for that cost. I waited about 3 months of penance squinting in the sun and then found a nice pair of RayBans at Costco. I will do my funeral in Ray Bans thank you very much.
 
I find sunglasses scubadiving in Lake Washington over the summer. It's a great sport. I got 2 pair of Prada last year- they were really well made.

A new pair of Versace were the best I got last summer.

The funny thing about most good sunglasses is they're all owned by one company (luxxotica)... Oakley, Versace, Ray Ban, Revo, Persol, and tons more.

I'm currently rocking American Optics aviators. Glass, great polarized. People I tell to try them on say "Wow, it's HD!" compared to their cheap polycarb POS. You have to have a face that works for them, though. I'm going to get some polycarb activewear next, it's a toss-up between Maui Jims or Specialized. May be switching (hopefully) to a bike shop from my current job, and get deep discounts... though there are some sunglasses called rudy's, which I'm willing to check out.

Anyway, I strongly believe in one activewear polycarb, and one everyday glass pair.

I REALLY like those. Can you post a pic with you wearing them, because I've seen aviators lenses speard too far apart on my face.

Nice shades- I find a lot of those. The problem I have with Maui Jims is the fronts are scratch resistant but the backs aren't. So you have to be careful. I've found a dozen or more pair with perfect fronts and trashed backs.
