Hello!

Sorry for my english.

I'm a security officer in Hungary. My job is to deal with some very bad emergency situations. My workplace is a huge factory with more than 20,000 workers.

There are minimum 3-4 health-helps situation every day. Majorly serious accidents happen, causing heavy bleeding, broken limbs, etc... I'm the first who appaer on the scene, so my job is to give self-aid. Sometimes I have to handle some borning fire, but it's rare and needs specialized tools. For self-defense... it's complicated in my country, that's not the main factor.

So the tool (probaly a multitool?) should specialized for first-aid giving or other emergency situations.

What could you recommend for me?

I’d recommend a multitool from the leatherman juice series. That, combined with a folder such as a spyderco paramilitary 2, should serve you pretty well.

Just my two cents.

Leatherman + a small fixed blade should serve you well in my opinion.

You aready have one blade on the leatherman, so if you have another knife, fixed blade is better option because it's stronger than the one you already have.

Like others have mentioned, a good multi-tool and fixed blade would be good options. If you don’t prefer a fixed blade, you may also consider something like the Benchmade Triage.

I would recommend the leatherman Charge plus. The main tools are accessible from the outside, so you can use it with one hand. There is also a serrated knife with a seatbelt cutter.

I would buy a pair of cheap shears for medical work, They are easier to use and not so hard to clean as a multi tool and they are only a couple dollars. I would carry a multi tool and a small fixed blade knife if you have space for small jobs. If you dont use it, you can always stop carrying it. Good Luck!

I've seen a lot of EMTs carrying these, but I prefer the cheap trauma sheers as well for the above mentioned reason
Blood will be easier to clean off of cheap sheers or you can just throw them out
they make multi tools with an 02 tank wrench, glass breaker etc. without having to buy the trauma sheer version
I don't know... the EMTs I know that carry them like them
Worth a look anyway:D
