What kind of wood is used for the 110’s scales?

Has it changed over the years?

Thanks.

There have been several variations over the years. Obeechee (sp?), Macassar ebony (my favorite), birch, laminate...

Others may correct me, but I think the obeechee and birch are stabilized. The macassar was not, and didn't need to be.

The ol' lady already thinks I'm nuts on a good day. Add what she calls my "knife buddies" on this forum, my waiting for the mailman like it's Christmas when I'm expecting a new "toy" (I tell her they're "tools"), sniffing my knives, sniffing my sheaths (not "sheets"), and posting a web page of "tools". I think the crock pot thing would just throw her over the edge.
