What knife are you a little ashamed to admit you like?

Is there a knife that you have or had that you loved but are a little ashamed to admit that you liked it so much?

I had a copy of the sword from the movie Highlander.

There, I feel better now that I've admitted that. :)

Wow! Outdoorsfan, are you kidding me! There is no blade of any kind out there, whether it is a pocket knife, fixed blade, sword, especially a JK, or anything else I've ever seen with a sharp edge on it, that I would be ashamed to say was mine! I have one or two of those type of swords in my collection too, that I ended up getting in some package deals, now I can't remember exactly what they were called but, based on some kind of fantasy movie! It's a knife ain't it? There's no shame when it comes to knives of any type as far as I am concerned! I don't think I have ever seen a knife of any kind that I wouldn't like to have, to add to my collection, especially if it is a JK! Some times it's hard for me to go to John's, and not take one of his knives home with me! They are always nice ones! The man is a craftsman, and cares about what he puts out there! Don't ever be ashamed of having any kind of knife in your collection! If you are ashamed of it, bring it to me the next time we get together, I'll give it a good home! LOL!

lol I own a good amount of gil hibben fantasy blades that I just had to have when I was younger. my dad would buy them for me and I thought they were the baddest bladed weapons to be had lmao. I also own that highlander sword I believe lol and the one rambo knife and the crocodile dundee blade. I still have them all just can't talk myself into getting rid of them since dad bought them for me so many years ago.

I wanted that Highlander sword sooooo bad but never got one. I don't think it would feel as cool now though!:D

I kinda love my large G10 Espada. It's too big to be practical and the design creeps slightly toward fantasy knife, but it's just so darn fun!

Hi Sean -

I don't OWN one (yet), but I would love to have an Outback Bowie - I just like the design and size of it.

I feel so ashamed. :P

best regards-

Strangely enough, I do have one. I am always putting knives in my watch list on Ebay, sometimes they are knives that are junk and I just want to see how much they go for. My girlfriend decided that she would gift me with a knife but knows better than to go it alone. Well, apparently she logged onto my ebay and saw one and got it for me not realizing that it was one of the knives I put in there just to see what it sold for.

I put on my best face as I opened the box. I really have an issue with Chinese made junk especially when it is a theft design from a reputable maker. Problem is, the knife is pretty solid. It is thin in the tip and I think I will probably be able to destroy it with any moderate use but I can't bring myself to carry it haha.

Here it is....

I may be too dense to realize the shame I'm supposed to feel, but I have several Steel Warrior (Frost knives) that I actually like quite a bit.

Nice thread

i am ashamed of the cheap (like 10$) mall ninja swords.......

i can beat the crap out of them and then trash them, i dont have to worry about them

I don't love it,but can't git rid of it either.
It's a Gerber Armor.
It's blade is made out of mystery steel, but it has the features I want in a knife for work.
It's a tanto with serration's,liner lock,semi flipper & green/black micarta.
It doesn't hold an edge worth a damn & I had to grind down part of the scales & liner to get to the lock readily,
but it works for what I need at work,a one hand opening/closing user I'm not worried about losing.
I just use it for getting electric motors & gear reducers out of their boxes & prying open paint/grease cans.
The motors & reducers are wrapped in plastic & with the limited space in the box the tanto point is perfect for cutting the wrap with out
scratching the paint.
I will replace it with a BM Grip when it wears out or I find a great deal on one.
I've had it for pert near 4 years & actually do like it after my mods.
I just wish it was US made & had better steel, like John's knives.

No shame! My throwing stars are razor sharp and always ready when ninjas come down the chimney!

Can't really think of any knife I'm ashamed I like it. I guess the closest would be a HD knife that is all steal and in the shape of a motorcycle. It is pretty heavy and I'm not a motorcyclist, but it is surprisingly very sharp. It just feels kinda weird, on the very rare occasion I carry it, to whip it out a motorcycle and cut something.

I have one, and I used it quite a bit. It isn't a bad knife, in all honesty. I don't carry it anymore, as I much prefer fixed blades, but I did use it and use it pretty hard. It didn't fail as I thought it would.

And, I don't own any knife I am ashamed of. (I did own a few hollow handled knives in my time, but I thought those were cool back when I was 10)

Okay here goes..
Ebay "damascus tracker clone.
About the size of the TB-02 ( midsize).
After all the tracker hype ( both good and bad), I got bit by the bug and decided to try to grab one ( or a copy) on the cheap.

Saw a really (REALLY) good deal on ebay, and went for it.

$75 shipped.
Can't get a second hand TB-04 for that.

I really just wanted to check out the design, and I am also aware fo the "Dam-mystery" Steels sometimes used on these types of ebay clone knives.
Turns out, the steel seems to be good ( I was told it's 15n20 and 1085, but who knows) and fit and finish are very tight.
Holds an edge like nobody's business, and chops like a #00 camp hatchet.

I like this knife so much I made a horizontal carry sheath ( or vertical, it can change), and use it as an actual working blade.

I have an old Parker Commando survival knife - I've had it since 1982 and just can't seem to get rid of it. I even occassionally carry and use it in the woods:eek:
