What knife are you getting/giving for father's day?

I got my dad a Cabela's Alaskan guide series Buck PBS Crosslock knife. It's s30v and super sharp out of the box. It's a pretty unique design with having two locking blades (one plain edge and the other a saw blade with a gut hook.) The flipper of the closed blade serves as a finger guard when using the other blade. The liner lock is pretty thin.

It's funny buying a knife for someone else. This knife doesn't appeal to me at all because I don't need a knife designed to field dress a deer and I'm really not a fan of liner locks. However, I really think this is the knife that my dad would love to have because his passion is bow hunting deer, he likes multi-bladed knives, and is very familiar with liner locks.

So now that I've shared... What knife are you giving or expecting to get for father's day?

though i am not a father (hopefully not) I want to get a spyderco MBC rated blade for SD. i am still looking for one and want either the Yoji or Karambit.

Rumour has it there's an Atwood Prybaby coming my way:) . Time will tell...

I'm seriously considering getting myself a Spyderco Kumo FB11 real soon now :). I don't need it. In fact: I'm not sure I have a use for it. But I like it. It calls to me. So I think I'm going to have to have it.

I'm waiting for pics from Blade first. Then it'll be one of the new Swamp Rat models (In which case, Fathers day will come in two weeks :D ).
Also waiting for the Scrap Yard stuff too.

If these don't pan out I'll be scouring the planet for a couple classic slip-joints from Imperial and Schrade.

(odd taste in knives, huh? From Swamp Rats to Old Timers ;) )

I picked up a nice little GL Drew fixed blade custom off of bladeforums several week ago (a steal at $50 with sheath), and my 76y old dad will be getting it.

Just ordered for myself a BM 710 D2, but thats our little secret, ok?

cheers

I have never received a knife as a gift so I don't expect one for father's day.

My dad doesn't care for knives so I will not be giving one either.

;)

My Father has more knives than he knows what to do with. Funny thing is, he still carries his Old Timer Stockman I bought him years ago (15 years at least) so he is good to go. I on th other hand ordered myself a Marbles Woodcraft just the other day. Look forward to putting it to use on a weekend that it's NOT RAINING. Feel like I moved to Seattle:mad:

I bought my dad a Case CV trapper with amber bone handles. He was talking about how he would like something like a SAK, but with cutting blades only and carbon steel instead of stainless.

I'm also getting him an Inova Microlight to replace his Maglite Solitaire.

Getting dad a hunting knife kit - he's a genuis at putting things together. Coincidentially, I got one too. Some good bonding time is coming up.

I bought my dad a MT mini socom elite last year for fathers day. I am stumped trying to think of something to get for him this year though hahaha.

I may give my BM42 to my Dad, and since he is too sheeple to even hold it, just keep it for me.

More seriously, I'll learn to make knives, than make him one.

I have instructed my wife to pick me up a Benchmade D2 Steel Mini-Griptillian from the local Cabelas. I can't wait.

She asked me how many knives I need.... I just smiled. :)

I'm seriously considering finishing the scales on the DDR3 that I have kicking around and give to him.

but he's already getting a bottle of Macallan 12yr. so I don't know.
