I can't say because I have the problem of almost never selling my knives that I like. I know others will sell ones, even if they like them, to get others...So I'm curious

Gave a knife to my friend as a teenager.
Not sure what I was, but know I wish I had it now because thinking back it's exactly the kind of knife I'd love to carry today if it was actually a good knife.

Other than that I've only sold my collection of flea market
" knives " ( theyre junk nd more novelty than knife )
As I wanted room.for users , but I don't regret this at all.

I don't consider myself a knife collector. If I get one, one usually has to go. I'll stick to a few recent ones.

Spyderco Hossom Dayhiker. I unloaded it in a trade. I don't camp and hike much anymore, so I place more value on folders that I can carry everyday vs fixed blades nowadays. Great knife.

Benchmade HK 14715. Another folder I unloaded in a trade last year. As soon as I unload some knives this summer (I need to thin the herd), I will be replacing it. Another great knife. D2 + axis lock + G10 + no nonsense design. I liked the sand color too.

Not sad, but I regret selling a vintage stag handled, stag pummeled Marbles Ideal.
I purchased it a downtown sporting goods store that has long since closed. I recall that it was a consignment sale and in excellent condition. It was the knife that got into collecting.

What knife are you the saddest you ever sold? Don't know since I never sold one. Ask me about firearms and I can give you my standard answer, I made my decision to sell and try not to look back. Regrets? Sometimes. Sad? No.

I was to believe that CRK would no longer support the older Sebenzas and sold off cheap a very good condition BG-42 large Sebenza I had to purchase a new 25. Only later did i learn what a mistake I made. To make matters worse - it was my first Sebenza.

I just sold every EDC of mine and only kept safe queens. And said to myself am I doing this backwards?

Seriously. I just shipped them today.

None. In fact, I'm happy I sold all my knives except my current two. Eliminated needless clutter, removed anchors weighing me down, and the money from the sales got put to good use on experiences.
That's a good healthy attitude regarding knives and other "stuff". I have a lot of clutter... boxes of knives and they never get used. I have a couple that I use all the time, like everyday. So, why do I resist selling stuff I will likely never use and it's only gathering dust? (Gathering dust is a figure of speech as no dust gets on them.) I don't know other than I'm lazy about such things. The problem is that I keep adding to the pile when I know full well the new knife at best has a 50-50 chance of being used.

There are knives that I simply enjoy fondling and to me that justifies their place in my pile. The ones that I have little interest in even looking at are the ones I really should consider selling just to get them to a new home where they might be used.

I have bought and collected (for a time) many knives. I have sold approx the same number of knives...with very few remaining. There is no way that I could have enuf money to support all those beautiful knives. Often, I sell one in order to buy another. This process will likely continue... I call it a learning process.

A pair of Ben Seward fixed blades. I've sold a bunch, and I sort of miss a couple others, but I think those are the only ones I regret.
