Dave, An old Navy man like you ought to know what knives the USA government buys...........low bid.

I did get a nice leatherman tool once ,thrown as a crumb for going to extra special effort. still in box.....300Bucks
 
The knives that the government offers through GSA contracts and the ones you will actually find government people using are two diferent thiings. During the 22 years I spent in the Navy, I think Buck (110, 112, 119) was by far better represented than their closest competitor, who in my day was more than likely Case as a distant second. I'm pleased to see that one can purchase a Buck knife through the government system though.
 
well the links worked for me this morning then quit short time later.. i get same thing..
the links i had posted had a lot of buck knives in the listings which is why i posted
i got leather man tools and some real good knives when i worked for NIST as high voltage tech.. nothing cheep ... but that was NIST allowing us to order ...
most order cheep and as mike said normanly if a govt worker has a good knife he bought it his self!
now i sees some higher ups .. like 4 levels over my head ... order some fine knives as awards for co supervisers...
my observation as temp dept superviser hobnobing with uppy ups = you scratch my back with awards and preformance checks and i will scratch yours
the working john's and janes dont ever see this...
god i was too much in your face to surivrive there long as dept head ya jest dont call a cow patty poop... it is "not yet mature furtliser"
