I'm a relative newbie here, but starting in a very big way, in just over a month, i have picked up (in order of acquisition);

Buck Metro
Kershaw Vapor II (decided i didn't like it and returned it)
Spyderco Endura 3 FRN CE
Dyad Jr
Native FRN PE
Buck 110
Jester FRN SE
Cricket SS PE

the Metro has been downgraded to "wallet knife", and the Endura mainly lives in my car's center console, the Dyad Jr is an "around the house" knife, and i EDC primarily the Native, Jester, and Cricket

of those three knives, the one that's pleasantly surprisd me in many ways has been the Cricket, i was a little skeptical of a sub 2" blade knife, and i thought the reverse-s style edge, although cool looking, was more of a gimmick than anything....

i couldn't be more wrong

the Cricket has amazed me on a more regular basis than all my other knives *combined*, that sub 2" blade cuts like one twice it's size, and that reverse-s "hawkbill-esque" point, that's simply the most *amazing* blade design i've ever used, cuts packing tape, antistatic bags, breaks down boxes, opens envelopes with aplomb, this "little big knife" sure doesn't know it's own size, it *thinks* it's a much bigger knife, all in a knife that i can hide in the palm of my hand....

the Cricket has seen more cutting time than all my other knives combined, when i need to cut open a package, slit an antistatic bag to get a RAM module out, or otherwise need a quick cut, the Cricket's the one i'll reach for first

even better i've found that it's brilliant for cutting off the fabric "sport" bandages i have over my G4 Mirror-Door case induced gash, these bandages have *incredibly* good adhesive, 24 hours after i put them on, i can't peel the 2 halves of the bandage apart, it's like they've bonded at the *molecular* level....

all i need to do is sneak the tip of the Cricket under the edge of the bandage (the dull spine of the blade is facing my skin) and a couple of careful flicks later, the bandage drops away, since the spine of the blade is against my skin, there's *no* chance of cutting myself like there would be with a straigher point

if i was forced to get rid of my knives, and could only keep *one*, it'd be the Cricket.....

what knives have exceeded your expectations?

Busse SFNO....I didnt know what all the hype was about, then I cut down small trees and split wood with it and what not, and it all I had to do was strop it a few and I could hair again....LOVE INFI

The Benchmade Griptilian.

I just couldn't believe that I got so much knife that was so tough and had such a great lock for so little dollars. And made in the USA to boot.

I will never get rid of my BM 550. It's great.

Ontario Sp-6..perfectly balanced & useful camp knife.
Awesome weapon too, with the sharpened upper edge.

Kershaw Echo is an amazing 4" fixed blade that is supremely useful.

Now why you gotta go and do that?

See, here I am perfectly content with my Benchmade 720S and 710HS, but after reading your post, I've gotta go acquire a Griptilian.

That's not cool man. :(

;)

BRK&T Mikro-Canadian, I was VERY sceptical that I would like such a small knife, but it has proven to be extremely versatile.

Schrade 129OT Classic, bought it about 2 months ago, and for a offshore import in the sub $20.00 class, it has proven to be a great pocketknife.

rowdy, that knife is similar to the Kabar precision hunter, I can see why you like that design.

Yep, it's so ergonomic, its unreal. Takes a great edge also.
I jimped the back of the blade on mine, using my dremel tool.
