Hello,

I recently purchased this pocket knife from an auction being told it was a United States Army Camillus 1964 four blade pocket knife I am beginning to doubt this however after doing some research on eBay. My doubts arose when I noticed that on every U.S. Army Camillus knife I found has a Camillus marking on the bottom of the main blade with the date of the year it was created. This knife does look extremely similar to the same designs of the other knives but mine says what appears to be "stainless ksstaiwan" where the Camilus marking typically is. So by what maker is this knife? Is it a cheap knock off of Camillus? Here is a picture of my knife

and here is a picture of the main blade where it says "stainless ksstaiwan" I'm sorry you can't see the kss but it's the best I could get.

As you can see it clearly doesn't say Camillus where it usually does, if you search on ebay "Camillus US Army Pocket Knife" you will find all the ones that are definitely made by Camillus and if you look through the pictures most have a picture where you can clearly see their name & date of knife. So what's the verdict is this actually a Camillus knife or what?

All help is appreciated & thanks so much for taking your time to assist me!

Thank you for the response, I understand that it is not made in US. However Camillus does make knives in Taiwan, is this a Camillus knife made in Taiwan? It is so similiar to their US army pocket knife but I don't see Camillus marked anywhere such as on the other ones I have seen, do all Camillus knives have their marking on them?

Unless they resurrected the pattern I doubt it's real. That pattern is old and out of production a good while.

The auction I purchased it from claimed it was from 1964, did Camillus not have their knives made from Taiwan in 1964?

Camillus was US made until 2006, when they went out of business. The new Camillus is a different company, and their knives are not US made.

It's not a US made example. The Taiwan stamp gives it away

Yeah, it does seem counterproductive to incorrectly stamp the tue country of origin on a blade. ;)

Legit pattern, not an authentic old school Camillus. You can still find that model (used of course) US made, but it takes a bit of searching.
