No idea what knife that is - it’s got a decent stock thickness and nice blade profile though.

I’m going to guess it’s a big store budget knife ? Does the pivot seem to be in a strange spot on the blade to anyone else ? Looks like it’s more than two inches of blade as well ( unless that guy is the size of a 8 year old ).

I think tatsu hit the nail on the head. Sure looks like the Buck 311 Kingsman, apparently only available in Canada. Has a 2.75-inch, liner-locking 420J2 steel blade, weighs 2.4oz, available through Canadian Tire for about $24.99 in Canadian dollars. Judging from the article, it makes quite the vorpal sword.

A pic of the knife from a different article.

guess better have something than nothing......
yep looks like that Buck import......
What JB said.
Here are the specs, which are not impressive.
  • Features
  • Specifications
  • Durable work knife capable of completing a variety of tasks
  • 420J2 steel blade
  • Drop point, satin finish on blade
  • Pocket clip
  • Blade length: 2.75\" (6.98 cm)
  • Liner lock secures the blade when not in use
  • Nylon glass fibre handle

These real life events are a good reminder that we hobbyists tend to get wrapped around the axle when it comes to what a knife needs to be in order to be useful.

Yes. I always stay away from liner locks. Maybe I'm being silly.

Killed a bar! I hope that's a true story
Sir I believe the correct tense is "kilt him a bar."

People like you are why the instructions say “read these instructions thoroughly before use.”They probably also say “use of this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling is a violation of federal law.”

Remember, it’s all fun and games til some DA convenes a grand jury.

This guy allegedly fended off a bear with the pocket knife he had in his pocket at the time.

I have no idea if that’s true but if it is then f$&:k the dumb sh@t. I would have done the same thing while crapping my pants the whole time. Laws be damned.

I guess violation of federal law isn’t often prosecuted posthumously. Fair enough.
