What knife is this?

A close friend recently moved out of his old house and found 2 knives most likely belonging to the guy that died after previously living there. One of them isn't pictured, as it definitely looks like he or someone else made it, but this one looks like he bought it somewhere. You can't see it, but the name "Shipley" is engraved above the handle of the knife. It's very nice and I would be surprised if he made it himself, considering the quality. I'm trying to see if this is some kind of commercially sold knife or if it is one of a kind. Thanks for the help!

The sheath definitely looks homemade judging by the uneven stitching.
The knife itself doesn't exactly look like a typical factory production knife, but it looks better than the sheath so I could've been a kit blade or just a custom that ended up in need of a sheath.

I don't think it's anything special, I'd use it and let it be

And by special I meant worth a small fortune. It looks nice so I would use it.

If it says shipley it could possible be DON SHIPLEY who was from texas. Used alot of 5160 and did both forged and stock removal blades. He is a truck driver currently I think.

Yeah I was just curious as to whether anyone knew how this knife originated. As I said, there was another knife, but very clearly made by a less experienced individual so I didn't think he could have made it? I don't know, though.
