On the sheathe it reads "CASE (some sort of diamond symbol) XX" or similar to "CASE♦XX"
On the knife it says "CaseXX" and under that it says "Finn89" On the blade it has a dog and under the dog it says "Irish Setter Sport Boots Made in U.S.A."
Sadly I cannot ask the original owner of this knife where he got it because he is no longer alive.

That knife can be traced to a particular year of production, using a code that involves the tang stamp style and number of dots. I don't have the chart memorized, but it should be easy to look up.

FINN SS is the model number. FINN being the knife pattern; SS is short for Stainless Steel.

Boot brand logo indicates knife was a promotional advertising item, perhaps given away with a pair of boots. I have a Gerber knife that came free with Danner boots and has a Danner logo...

You can buy a brand new knife just like that, minus the boot logo, for about $35. The same pattern is also made with a leather handle, which costs $45.
