I was looking through a box of old knives, and came across this one. It seems like a decent knife. G10 handles, steel liners, etc. But there isnt any markings or anything on the knife letting me know what it is. Sorry about the bad pictures, they were taken with my cell phone.

I say sharpen it and find out what the steel acts like. Maybe do a quick stain analysis with lemon juice or something to help you understand the steel a little better. From the looks, it doesn't appear too chintzy.

It looks something by M-Tech, which means it is a knock-off of somebody else's design.

M-Tech...or worse.

Notice the non-adjustable pivot. On that kind of knife its a dead give-away of being junk.

This knife doesnt have a adjustable pivot either, and its a benchmade.
The pivot on the above mentioned knife seem to have four cutouts so maybe it is adjustable with a speciality tool? I agree it doesnt look top quality but I dont think we should jump to conclusions that fast without being able to handle it.

It's not a real Benchmade. It's a M-Tech rip-off of the Benchmade knife design. Notice how thin the scales are as well as the thin aluminum liners? I actually have a M-Tech on my desk right now (gag gift), and it has the same scalloped Micarta scales, clip, screws and pivot.

That's the same picture from benchmade's website, and that's g-10 not micarta, and what scaloping... are you looking at the same picture?

M-Tech. It's an M-Tech knock-off of an existing blade... Here's another M-Tech so you can see the same materials that they use...
