What knife K'd A Bar?

Probably one of the old Union Cutlery company knives. Pre name change?

Certainly long before the the name change. Union Cutlery branded the name "Ka-Bar" long before WW2. Union Cutlery changed their name to Ka-Bar in the 1950's.
IMHO the origins of the name Ka-Bar will remain in the category of (a story). As time goes by the chances of uncovering actual provenance drops exponentially. Might be time better spent to search for the actual Holly Grail. Still the story will remain part of the lore of the company and the association of the the name KABAR with the 1219C2 pattern knife of WW2 will keep the name KABAR high in name recognition for knife fans.
Given the long held interest in the story, IMHO if there ever was a chance of identifying the actual model knife associated to the story it is most likely lost to time.
