I don't buy knife magazines anymore because:

1) Somewhat difficult to find on the shelf.
2) They vary from 100% ads or articles that are really ads, to maybe 85% ads (15 percent content).

Too little info at too great a cost. (IMO)

Blade, TK and occasionally Knives Illustrated. No one around here carries Knife World so i've never read it. Most of them are easily found at big magazine stores like International News.. and i read them when i'm at the gym on the cardio machines to keep my mind off the fact that i'm working out :)

Fighting knives was my favorite! Too bad they died (RIP)
Every now and then I'll pick up Tactical Knives mag.

My latest addition is the Knifeforums Magazine. It seems like a very high quality publication. You also will get to read articles written by some of the folks you see online on a regular basis (like Melvin-Purvis) (plug--plug):D

Mel: Remember---without ads, no publication will survive.;)

I've been collecting knife magazines since the 80's to and I remember Fightin' Knives, everyonce in a while I like to grab a fist full of old knife mags to read in the hopper, it's nice to see some of the early stuff that was just commin' out. Like old reviews on the BM AFCK, some of the early customs and stuff like that.:D

Than my wife says,"what are ya gonna do with the magazines, at least I get rid of mine, yours just hang around."

I tell her,"It for research."

She say's "Research for what, it's a friggin' knife, what do ya need to know? Does it cut?"

I gotta admit she's not that bad, she's actually pretty good about it.

Thanks knifenerd...lol ;)

The writing is just for fun; even with so much written about Randall's, I still found quite a bit of information lacking...so, I started to 'research' the knives...the product of that research was the article...

As to ads, that's always my favorite part of any magazine. So, I hope we'll see more with time...

Mel

I buy most of the knife magazines on the newsstands. I subscribe to KnifeForums - The Magazine. KnifeForums looks like it could shape up into a VERY good read. The writing may not yet be as polished as appears in some magazines, but the knowledge imparted is quite excellent.
