Hello,
this is my first post here. There might be tons of topics like this so sorry in advance if its true. If possible I wouldnt mind mergin this with previous ones. also would like to apologize any misspellings as english isnt my first language.

I would be delighted to hear your opinions about knife meeting forthcoming criteria. I will also briefly go thru my knife history.

Knives that I own right now and quick comments on them (all Spyderco models):
Para2 g10, tad too big for me
Caly 3 cf, tad too small for me and slippery handle
Jess Horn lightweight spearpoint, nice size but dont like bladeshape nor handle material

I have had:
Endura 4 blue ffg, too big and did not like handle
Ladybug H1 serrated, nice but did not like serrations

Here is things that knife that im looking for should have:
-Folder
-Grippy handle (g10?)
-Right hand tip up clip option
-Lock
-One hand opening
-Quality in materials both in handle and the blade
-It should be good slicer

Things that are considered big bonus (in somewhat order):
-Lays flat on the table (like para2 does but caly3 does not)
-No serrations
-Cutting blade portion starting as early as possible after handle ends (im from Finland and used to work with puukkos and moras) Atleast ability to choke the blade
-Full flat ground or even zero ground
-Option of taking the parts apart to clean the knife
-Chimping
-No coating on blade
-Black handle
-Deep carrying clip
-Not balisong
-Not too tactical looking and otherwise "beautifull"

Im thinking about getting Caly 3.5. Downsides are that it is not laying flat and handle cannot be "broken" apart. Options?

I'd say look at the Kershaw RAM or S30V Leek, or the Spyderco Manix 2. The Manix 2 in particular. It has grippy G-10 handles, lots of jimping, clip options, good steel, a strong lock, black handle, choke up capability, screw construction, and plain edge. The blade is hollow ground instead of flat, but that should make it a great slicer. It's also very durable. The Kershaws are more of a flat grind, and should also work.

If you can find a para 1 or any of the sages, any of those might fit your bill.

Just wanted to thank for your comments. I still went Caly 3.5 today.

I know my reasons might not be to rational. I just found the looks of Manix and Sage not to be my taste. Never held one of those so...

Para 1 was tip down only and Leeks blade shape was not to my taste. Still great suggestions!
