I'm kinda at a standstill. I want to get a good fixed blade knife to carry with me. I do quite a bit of hunting and fishing and spend quite a bit of time in the woods. I want a good all around knife, I was looking at the Kabar D2 Extremes, and I was also looking at the Becker BKT-10. I want something that has good sheath to put a sharpening stone in. I was looking to spend around $100. The D2 is around $115 and the BKT-10 around $60. I would really appreciate any suggestions that you have to offer.

Becker Knife and Tool (Camillus) Combat Utility 7 (BK7).

The sheath even has the a pouch for the sharpening stone that you mention!

Well under $100.00 and easily worth twice what it sells for.

The three that come to mind are, the BK10 you mentioned - CS Master Hunter - Ontario TAK.
A CS MH stainless would stay prettier longer.
You can find many small custom hunters on ebay, often for less than a hundred - not better knives than these but perhaps more interesting.

Keep your eye on eBay and other places.
You might be able to find that D2 knife for your price.
You best bet might be to post on the KNIVES, Want to Buy Forum.

From what you are looking for, the Camillus/Becker BK10 or slightly larger BK7 would be two very good choices. If you can find somewhere else to store your stone, (its' kydex sheath doesn't include a pouch), a Spyderco Temperance is a good "hunting/fishing knife". That VG-10 steel is excellent in keeping a SHARP edge, and with its' ease of re-sharpening when needed.

Swamp Rat is getting ready to bring out their D2 very shortly. This'll probably (IIRC) be in the $80 or so range.

It's a 4 1/2 " D2

He said fixed blade. NOT FOLDERS, SO NO SEBENZA. DUH.

That joke is dumb, and tired.
You're either helping or you're a problem.
