i have a decent check coming this week and want to buy another knife. (already bought 3 last month....its addicting):) i most recent acquisition is the spyderco southard. I absolutly love the knife and the quality that comes with that price range of knives. What should i buy next that i can find between $180-$250?

I was looking at the Zt-0561 but watching reviews on youtube shows that people have a lot of problems with it. i want a reliable and sturdy knife. Something that is "over built and can handle anything.
thanks,
Tom

$150-$250 covers an awfully broad spectrum. Any certain criteria you're looking for?

ZT 0562 in either fashion
Southern Grind Bad Monkey (Dont own one but hear nothing but rave reviews and they look freaking sweet)

i am looking for something that is "over built" and can handle anything. I do like flippers. That bad monkey looks bad ass

I have a Zt-0561 and have had it for about 2 years and it has held up quite well to anything I throw at it. I carry it as edc and also use while working doing Hose testing, and contracting.
I have also heard good things about the Southern Grind Bad Monkey. The adamas by benchmade is a very stout knife as are quite a few emersons if you like their style

thanks..i have been really digging the look of the 0561 but the review have turned me away. i should go to a shop and hold it.

When you say "overbuilt" I think ZT! My recommendations would be 0550, 0300, or 0562 for an overbuilt folder.

The 0562CF falls within your range (if you can find one in stock). That'd be my top pick right now.

The 0560/0561 is also a great knife. Although I use my 0560CBCF much more than my regular 0560 nowadays, both knives have served me well. Good ergos, and the blades take and hold a great edge.

The 0801 and 0350 in M390 are also worth a look. The thick titanium handles of the 0801 feel great, and the flipping action is excellent.

If you can go a little higher then the Spyderco Fariz K2 and the Spyderco Slyz Bowie are both awesome

You have watched the wrong reviews I guess. ;) most people dont have problems with the ZT 0561. Besides that the latest version is an updated version 2, slightly diff from the first version. You recognise it by the screw for the stainless steel lock insert.

Go to a shop if you can to see how large the 0561 is. look also to a 0566, that is similar but smaller
ZT 801, very smooth knife too.

But maybe you should buy something total different of other use, like . . . . . . . a good kitchen knife :)

The videos I have watched said they have a huge amount of lock stick and others say they have a lot of blade play. Maybe it was just the early models.

I would deffinitely say that if you are on the fence as to purchase the knife or not then it is always a good Idea to go to a shop and hold it.

dude lionsteel sr2a. it's on my OMG list. ~165$ totally want it but i've been preoccupied with my fixed blade collection so it'll have to wait :(
