Hi,
I have problem with deciding what blade should i leave for myself and what should i get rid off ( i really don't like when knife is unused)
I have Swamp Rat Battle Rat, but i use it only for serious chopping.
I am looking for all-around knife( for fine cutting i use Victorinox Huntsman or Benchmade Ascent 835-07-00)
Fallkniven A1 (lam)
+ good weight ~ 305 grams ( for this size)
+ Hidden tang
+ No choil
- bit too thick blade ( 6mm)
- Kraton Handles ( not so durable like Res-C)
Swamp Rat Howling Rat Gen 2
+ Hidden tang
+ Res-C Handles
+ good weight ~185 grams
+ good thickness ( ~4,7 mm)
+ very good steel
+ good steel ( but i am not big fan of stainless steels)
- ridiculously big choil
- bit to small ( 5" blade ideal)
Scrap Yard Dumpster Mutt Double Coat
+ Hidden tang
+ Res-C Handles
+ Bit to heavy (~230 grams) but still ok for this size of blade
- thick edge (6,35 mm )
- mediocre steel ( edge holding)
Swamp Rat Ratmandu
+ well designed, comfortable handle
+ very good steel
- very heavy for this size of blade ~299 grams
- bit obtuse edge (behind cutting edge/ comparing to A1, DMDC or HR)
