Hello, I'm 13 and looking for a good knife I have a few but I'm looking specifically a knife like the Walther WAL1000 I bought one at a show and used it for a lone time until I was told by an ex-cop that if there longer then 3" then there illegal so I'm looking for one like that one but 3" (I like pushing the limit) money is not really a problem but I can't afford Strider (i would really lime to though) and yes I have cleared this with all the people that I might get in trouble with. And by the way I need geniuses not "geniuses". Thank you in advance.

It looks like the knife you had was a fixed blade. What state do you live in that fixed blades can only be 3 inches or less? Sometimes cops aren't very knowledgeable about the specifics of knife laws.

So are you looking for a fixed blade? What are you going to use the knife for? What are you looking for? Answer those questions and you'll get more responses.

Benchmade MPR, Benchmade 707, Spyderco Sage Series knives, just look into Benchmade and Spyderco, you will be happy :D

So you want a fixed blade less than 3 inches, do you want it skeletonized like the Walther? There is the BK13 Becker Remora, Ka-bar Johnson Adventure Piggyback, ESEE Izula, and Buck Packlite Skinner. All four have less than 3 inch skeleton fixed blades and most the people here would recomend the Izula. I only have the Buck out of those and it's a great knife and not expensive, however the sheath isn't made to be be neck worn if you are specificaly looking for a neck knife.

I live in Clinton IL (vary small town) and I checked with a active cop (we had troublesome people across the street) he confirmed it and when we moves I asked a detective and he also confirmed that if it's a fixed blade then it has to be 3" or less unless you have a good reason for having it but foldable knives can be any length.

Yes I'm looking for fixed blad knives; I will be use for the run-of-the-mill things knives are needed for as well as throwing practice which is why I need it to be just one piece of metal and preferably able to hang around me neck with out falling out (as the WAL1000 did afte a while) but it doesn't have to be.

IZULA! Its a sweet knife. The IZULA 2 comes with full micarta scales and you can wear both around your neck. Very strong little fixed blade. I highly recommend it.
