Apparently a Gerber Chameleon....caught an early show of the new "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes", and the main character "Caesar" steals one from somebody and uses it to escape. :)

Movie is pretty good, several "in jokes" for fans of the original films from back in the day.

That knife is okay...till guck gets in the action and it then refuses to open.

Yea, I've got one of them, at some point early on in it's life, it stiffened up (the action) and it's never been a one hand opener since. Could never get it cleaned out. still a neat design though.

Loved the original POTA's nothing since has even come close IMO.

As far as the knife...eh...not my cup of tea..

But in answer to your question, could you imagine King Kong with a smatchet??:eek: Unstoppable! :D

That knife was also used on Creamface Cd .

warning.....if you have the desire to look up the cd "very explicit" :D

Me to, my favorite Sci-Fi from childhood.

This new one is pretty good, and you'll catch a lot of names and stuff that are used in the original.

What?!?! I would've guessed an Emerson CQC-8 also known as the "Banana." :p

Chimps around here carry those 90 knives for a hundred bucks type knives they hawk on late night shopping channels.

Funny. I was just looking at this knife yesterday at my local camping goods store. They're the only vendor I know of here that sells quality knives. Their next big shipment is in 2 months and the shopkeep was hinting at me about a Benchmade Barrage that I've been looking to get my hands on for some time now.

Thanks. I've seen the trailer several times and wondered what that knife was. I was thinking it might be a Kershaw Leek.

On thing I wonder every time I see the clip is where do all the apes come from? There seem to be thousands and there can't be more than 20 or 30 in the city of over 1 million people in which I live. Can't be more than a few hundred in zoos within a 500 mile radius. Maybe I'm wrong, just wondering.

By the way, I love he Planet of the Apes. I'm old enough to remember the TV show in addition to the movies. Roddy MacDowell was my favorite actor in elementary school.

I'm kind of interested in what a chimpanzee would actually do with a knife. How long do you think it would take for it to cut itself?

Probably sharpen it a lot better than you :D

Just kidding!

Give a 100 chimps a 100 knives and a 100 hours and you'd have a LOT of confetti :P

I dunno, I saw a chimp learn karate so I bet they could get one to sharpen better than me. :P

Heh...

Put 10,000 monkeys in a room with knives...

Chimps have been known to use an array of tools in the wild, so given enough time they might actually find a use for it.*

*Does not apply to the Dark Ops Vindicator. They'd throw away that POS immediately. :p

Just caught some of the original POTN on Friday. That movie series was one of my favorites as a kid also. Glad to hear that people enjoyed the latest reboot. From the trailers I've seen I found the CGI characters were looking pretty fake.
