I would like to see someone make a knife that combines traditional design and utility, modern handle materials, and a practical steel. The knife would be a canoe pattern slipjoint folder with one serrated sheepsfoot and one plain edge spearpoint blade. Both blades would be 2 7/8" long and have nice, strong backsprings. The spearpoint would be thin for slicing, and the sheepsfoot would have a thick spine all the way to the tip for strength. The handle would have dark green or dark blue G10 scales with nickel bolsters. The steel would be GIN-1.

This would provide two useful blades in one compact knife that fits nicely in the pocket. The canoe knives feel comfortable and look good to me. G10 is slip-resistant, and I like colors other than black. No wacky purple or lime though. I know what to expect from GIN-1 in cutting performance and resharpening, and it never seems to rust. There are some knives that come close, but don't quite fit these specs. Slipjoints seem to rarely have serrated blades and are usually made with more traditional scales. I like Spyderco, but the Dyad doesn't interest me either.

This might not be a very exciting knife, but it would cover common daily cutting tasks for me. I'm willing to bet that other people's dream knife is a bit more exotic...;)

a wharncliffe folder with wood scales, a frame lock, ambi pocket clip and a Carson flipper (no thumb studs). It should look elegant yet be as fast and as tough as any tactical folder. Maybe a choice of different liner/ blade materials. 420 stainless liners/ aus 8 blade for those on a budget. Titanium and VG-10 for those who want more. Anybody with me on this?

ohh that souds great:D

I'd like to see a larger production version of the Darrel Ralph E.D.C.
It is a great knife, but for guys with large hands (like me), it just doesn't fit right.

I see the Smith & Wesson has a large version of it available, but I'd like to see better materials, and a US manufacturer.

I have an idea that is bouncing around in my head that would make a civilian look like a childs plaything.:D Still trying to refine it.

I'd like:

1) a dual bladed Sebenza, on PE blade, one serrated;

2) a Victorinox Pioneer with scissors and tweezers along with the other tools;

3) a Spyderco Pro Grip with a titanium handle and a flatter clip;

4) a SOG Vision/Tomcat mix (lockback, PE Vision blade with cocobolo Tomcat - style handle).

I'm sure something else will come to mind soon.

I would really like the following:

1) A 4.5 inch to 5 inch bladed Sebenza

2) a regular sebenza with a second blade, a SAK saw blade

Lastly, I would love to see Microtech re-introduce the manual action Socom Elite

I guess it is okay to dream.

Gunting folder made by Strider.

 • 4 inch blade
 • S30V blade
 • Ti liners (thick like an AR/GB)

Otherwise same lock, hump, etc.

This D2 Queen stockman but made with rounded bolsters instead of squared ones and a pen blade instead of a spey (I can't recall the last time I needed to spey anything). Or I'd even take this cv Case stockman but with rounded bolsters instead of squared ones.
First choice would be the Queen in D2 though.

I'd like to see MORE left-handed knives (Spyderco Police, Military, and Chinook,, Cold Steel Vaquero Grande).

I would like to see the Camillius OVB Bowie made in D-2 with G-10 or Micarta. The wood handled one are too good looking to use.

I will probably think of more later on, but one thing I'd love to see is for Spyderco to bring back the Calypso Jr. with the VG-10 blade in some other handle material than Zytel. Wood or Micarta or G-10 or something. I know Zytel is cheap and perfectly functional, but it looks and feels cheap too.

Another thing I would love to see is some production folders with thin, convex grinds. They would be cutting machines.
