What Knife

This is an idea I have. What knife would you recommend me if you didn't know any of my preferences or what I like and just knew that I wanted to spend under $30. What is your go to recommendation. I own lots of knives but just want to see what people would recommend to someone who says, "Hey, I got $30 and want to buy a knife".

Not only do I think the info might be useful to a new knife person, but it may give me ideas of new knives that won't break the bank :)

See also, Schrade schf13. I didn't realize at the time that the MTech was a knock off, but I only got it as a beater/mod practice anyway.

So far I've flattened the primary to about 0.02" behind the edge and reprofiled to 15dps. Also rounded part of the spine and mellowed out the jimping. Then rounded out the transition behind the index finger notch.

It's marked 440c on the blade. Been happy with the sharpness I'm getting and edge holding so far.
 
Ontario Utilitac 2 or one of the many nice Chinese Kershaws(the OSO Sweet is a personal favorite)

I wouldn't recommend anything until I knew more information.
