What Knives did you Carry in the USMC?

Happy Birthday Ironbut Ironbut and 315 315 ! What knives did you carry in the Corps? Please tag any others I’m missing, I know there’s at least a handful more.
Sheesh! You're talking over 50 years ago! We all had cheap pocket knives that came & went, but the only knife I remember is the Cammilus Pilot's Survival Knife. I still have it. The old Camillus scout knives were pretty useful, if you could get ahold of one, and had the basic Leatherman been available back then, it would've been a huge hit.

Ooorah! Happy Birthday!

I served 4 years as an electrician on A6E Intruders and did 2 Westpac tours. I didn't carry a knife as outside tools were prohibited on the aircraft due to potential FOD. Every tool had to be accounted for and had its place clearly marked in our shop tool boxes. We did cheat however on occasion, and use lighters to heatshrink insulation at times.

I saw a few Marines carrying Camillus Pilot’s knives, but never had one. You reminded me that I always carried a Leatherman, as well. It’s on my bookshelf, but I completely forgot about it when I was grabbing these three for a picture this morning before my tea/caffiene. LOL! I’ll have to get a picture of it when I get home.

Bought my first 110 from the Ship's Exchange on the USS Mobile in 1972. We were on a little float trip in the South China Sea when the NVA rolled across the DMZ. Got to spend a few days - like say 120 watching the helicopters come and go supporting SVN Marines. Also had the standard demo knife for the pocket. SFMF to all my brothers in arms.

Is that a sabre ground delica or endura? I can't tell from the photo.
It’s the predecessor to the Delica from the early 90’s. I think they called it the Economy or the Standard. At a time when my knives were a Buck 110, the above-pictured 503, and a Buck filet knife, when I saw my first Spyderco in the glass case at the I. Goldberg Army Navy store, I was intrigued by the one-handed opening and pocket clip, and I had to have it.

In 2004, Our son was "surged" into Iraq with a Randall #16-1. "Special Fighter" and a Chris Reeves "Green Beret". He also had a Leatherman multitool and a CRKT M21.

I bought him a slew of other cutlery, but those items were what he chose to deploy with.

I spent most of ‘04 in Iraq as well. It sounds like you took great care of him!

I carried a original leatherman that had been passed on down to me. Used it on the aircraft carriers constellation and kitty hawk....both ships are decommissioned now. Talk about feeling old. Sent that broken leatherman in for warranty and received a new similar one. Pretty cool
