What knives of yours are MIA?

A thread started by Normark touched home, I usually don't lose knives misplace them maybe, lose never.

In fact the longest I had ever misplaced a knife was 5 years, it was a BM Mini Reflex I had lost while cleaning out my barn, I looked and looked every day for months, I dragged the groud with this big a** magnet I use for trolling the bottom of the Delaware River here in PA, never found it, then one day I go to move a box of boxs that had sat in the barn since cleaning day and there it was under the box(musta fell out of my vest pocket as I set the box down on top of the knife, heavy box o books = not moving box to look for knife).

Now a week later I found a Blackie Collins Joggin' Buddy I didn't even know was missing(it was attached to a canoe I hadn't been in for five years and a month).

As of today I'm missing my David Winston Damascus Key Ring Knife, and a small Gerber Silver Knight with the checkered G-10 handles, when I misplace a knife I go nutz lookin' for it, my wife always knows when I lose a(I'm sorry, misplace) knife or a flash light I tear everything apart, car, sofas, my dresser and my side of the bed, and in the process put all my newly accumulated crap and clean up all the places i look(if ya ask me I think she hides the stuff just so I look for 'em and wind up cleaning in the house.

So in closing I'd like to pose this question to whoever reads this thread.

What knives of yours are misplaced or MIA?

My Victorinox Camper has been misplaced for about five years. I'm starting to think that it went out with some old clothes that were sold or donated. The worst part is not knowing! It's about to drive me crazy. I've tried to get over it by buying a bunch of other knives, but it doesn't work. I may need counseling.

I'm missing a spyderco dragonfly. All stainless, anybody seen it? It's been about a year now. It's somewhere in my house. I used it at home and discovered it missing the following morning when I was transfering my pocket junk to a different pair of pants. I never left the house between the time I used it and discovered it not in my pocket.

My very first "real" knife- a Schrade SP3. Nothing fabulous, I know, but looking up information on that knife is how I stumbled across BFC. Now I'm making knives. That is, trying to make knives.

Anyhow, lost it, found it in the springs of the recliner, now lost it again. Hope it turns up when we move. :o

I never lose anything but I've lost 2 Microtech SOCOMs over the years. Of all the knives why does it have to be the $200 ones?

I somehow lost an old WWII bayonet that I had laying around.

How do you lose something that big?

For the life of me, I cannot find two knives in my collection. One is a Peter DelRaso skeleton handled S30V neck knife with a kangaroo leather pouch sheath. I got to own this one about a week, before I misplaced it. Never even got to carry it. :(

The other missing knife is a Chris Reeve Mnandi, with stabilized Redwod Burl inlays and BG42 blade. Serial numbered. One of only 25, I believe. A KnifeArt limited edition. Double :(

Charge Ti, I picked up a replacement. It was my whole tax return from my summer job. That was a real piss-off. :(

Lost a spyderco endura about 10 years ago,not sure if i dropped it or misplaced it??? its the only knife that ever got away from me,luckily a knife like that was easily replaced.........

I've been looking for my BM 720 for almost two years now. It has to be somewhere in my parents home, but I'll probably never find it again unless I ever got a new one

This past week I found a Buck 112 that was MIA since 1992 or so. There is a 110 of similar vintage still in the wind. I have half a dozen SAK Tinkers and Super Tinkers that may show up some day. There is a lightweight Puma lockback around here somewhere from the mid 1990s.

I think all of my missing knives went to live with Jesus.

My toothpick-style slipjoint fishing knife has been missing for several years. It is a single blade model, with a scaler along the spine. I really like that knife, and I hope it turns up someday.

:thumbdn: My Cold Steel Ultra Lock Tanto Blade. They don't make them anymore. Totally destroyed the house looking for it. Never found it though:( . I was able to replace it with another one, which took quite a while to find, and cost a bit. It still drives me crazy wondering what happened to it. I guess because, it was one of my favorites, always wanted one, then once I get it, it..................AAAAAAAAAAAAAH DISAPPEARS. Actually I think it grew legs, and walked out with my Monster In-Law    . Well if she did take it (which I can never prove anyway), at least she has a good knife now.:grumpy:

A Hennessy branded corkscrew knife, many many years ago. Had a very decent knife, overall a really flat but strong affair. After I lost it, I visited knife stores to find something similar. Never did, but that sort of started my whole knife hobby. I'm still hoping it's stashed somewhere with some old stuff. Futile hope. I still fancy flat folders.

Leatherman Micra, I have no idea. Still hoping it's behind some bookshelf. The tweezers were already broken though.

Cold Steel (Tanto) Para Edge, in the care of a lady friend of mine, has been for over 2 years. And hopefully still is. Haven't seen her in a long time, and from time to time I really miss... my knife.

Victorinox one handed Trekker, lost mysteriously... Less than two weeks after I bought it. I've given up hope that it could be in a pocket somewhere.

Schrade/Imperial Apex Lockback, my then beater. Left at a private party in a kinda remote bar after cutting pineapples. Didn't feel like making inquiries... But no biggie. The barkeep got some compensation for me calling him an asshole... Which I guess we both were in the end.

Spyderco Native. Dematerialized while crawling home one sunday morning. First time I carried it. Lost forever, sadly.

BM 10300 Monochrome, MIA after an uncommonly hardcore booze binge. Recovered from a friends breadbox the following week, dented and tip blunted. Poor baby's fine and shaving now, still my EDC.

A Pulltap's corkscrew (hey, it has a tiny knife), left at the house of a lady friend of mine after a party. Didn't get it back even though I asked. Guess she's forgotten by now. It was one of the newer improved models too. I got it free at a Torres sponsored wine tasting, so not a serious loss. I have a couple more, though one is a presentation model I don't like taking with me.

Funny you should mention it......

when I came to Canada on holiday a few years back I bought a fairly cheap knife block with 6 Richardson of Sheffield knives. The other day I noticed that a pointy type 5" veg knife has gone. I am generally the only person that uses those knives in general, but that particular knife is not one that I ever use. We have looked down by the side of the fridge, but it seems to have vanished. I am sure it will turn up, as there is only me, the Mrs and my sister in law here. It even has a bright yellow handle so it wouldn't 'hide' like a black handled knife would. I do vaguely remember opening an envelope in the kitchen, but I am sure I would have put it back.

Missing:

Kershaw Chive - Somewhere in the house.

Victorinox Rucksack - I have no clue.

Spyderco Catcherman - Possibly on my friends boat.

Spyderco Remote Release - I think this was stolen but I'm not sure.

When I was about 10yrs old, my family moved and we had movers transport all our stuff. My two prized knives at the time, Buck Vanguard and a Buck 118 mysteriously disappeared from the box they were in. About 6yrs after that I lost a small Parker Damascus and a Spyderco Rescue while rock climbing. The spyderco Rescue was found by a friend about a year later and after I saw how much he fell in love with it (as he didn't have any knives), I didn't have the heart to ask for it back. The Parker was then found by a friend about five years later who knew it was mine.

Since then I have built a routine where I place my knives in the same place everyday when I come home or go to work. This has kept me from losing any since.
