So what sort of things do you carry in your "Bug out Bag"? I'd like to see what kinds gear you carry and what kind of packs you use. Pics would be great as well. I actually hate using the term "bug out bag", it seems like something from a TV show, but it seems like it is the most understood and easy way of describing an emergency gear bag.. :foot:

Similar to EyeDog, I do a Fallkniven F1 and a Victorinox Swisstool Spirit X. Also threw in a Surefire E2LAA

I don't have a bug out bag, but my EDC bag has some emergency items intended to set me up for situations like vehicle breakdowns in various weather ranges typical of the PNW. When I was in the selection process, I spent time considering my bubble. That is, the areas within which I live, work, and travel. My bubble is basically the Portland, OR metro area, from Mollala to Vancouver, WA. Within that range, shelter and materials are readily available. With that in mind, I no longer have a knife in my bag. I carry a folder and a Wenger Esquire on body and a Leatherman Juice S2 in my bag.

I also consider lights to be tools, and I keep 2 on body and 2 in bag.

Leatherman Wave and Esee 5 in an Alice pack. Back in 2012 I bought the ZT 0560 with the purpose of being my "apocalypse knife" lol. It has some competition now from CRK and Spyderco.

Glock entrenching tool or Junglee Jungle tool. PowerPot V Thermoelectric Generator. Titanium NanoStriker. Snow Peak Titanium pots. Vargo Titanium Hexagon wood stove. Katadyn 80113618 pocket water filter.

LOL. I bought a Benchmade 162 as my "apocalypse knife" and it has not made it into my bag. I also have a Glock knife, a Vic Soldier and a Wave multi tool all waiting for me to place them in my bag.

No BOB, but I do have a Maxpedition Falcon II in the truck with various useful items. Among those items are an original Leatherman, first run Gerber Gator, and Swamp Rat Ratmandu.

I leave a Case Sod Buster Jr in the center console of the car. That's the closest thing I have to a "bug out" knife.

strapped to the MOLLE web on my CamelBak HAWG, is an RC-3. Inside is a Cold Steel Pocket Bushman. One of the zipper compartments has a Leatherman and a Swiss Army One Hand Trekker.

Cold Steel Trail Master, Benchmade 162, Benchmade Adamas 275, and a Leatherman Charge Tti.

Even my backups have backups. :)

My wife and I each have a "BOB" that contains a King Cutlery (Ontario import line) "Black TAC" folder and a Guidesman multi-tool. Definitely nothing fancy as knives go, but sturdy, sharp and not something I'll feel is a waste of money tucked away in a backpack (hopefully) unlikely to be used.

I carry the following in my "get home bag":
Leatherman Wave w/ bit kit and extension
ESEE Izula
Gerber LMF 2 w/sheath
Bacho Laplander folding saw
Buck Bantam (soon to be strider clone)
Maglite LED solitaire (w/ extra batteries)
ProTec 1aa flashlight (w/ extra batteries)
Pull through knife sharpener
and other assorted items (water filter, water bladder, first aid kit, paracord, extra clothes, power bars, etc.)

We live in earthquake country. I have an emergency bag setup for both my car and my wife's car.
I used surplus USMC IBLE Assault packs for the bags. I have a Leatherman Charge TTi in each bag, Full first aid kits, food, water, canteen with steel cup, Glock shovel, 100yds paracord, water purifier tablets, UST Ultimate survival kit in an AlokSak, compass, a roll of duck tape, and a Space all weather blanket. In a second basic bag, a change of clothes, hiking boots, and my rain poncho. Now for the fun hardware. :D

So you keep all that Bussekin in a bug out vehicle, in your car?

What kind of car do you drive? What color is it, and where do you work ;)

And I have to ask if your wife has the same weapons in her GHB in her car? If so, she must be one of the most well armed women with edged weapons in the state :D
