what lanyard size do you prefer on your Busses?

I suppose it depends on the size of the knife, but which size do you find yourself buying from the BCS (or making yourself)?

These days I prefer no loop on choppers, but I like the D-ring.
On EDCs I like a loop big enough to fasten around my wrist.
I don't generally put fobs on any of my fixed blades, though I'm playing with it on some.

I use a small lanyard or a loop of leather lacing held together with a large bead - just enough to easily slip my little finger through it. I find that by doing this, I can quickly "drop" my knife (A Busse AD, GW, or 3-inch Randall #10) in order get full use of my hand to climb, grab, or hold something, then just as quickly "retrieve" my knife back into my palm when ready with a flip of my wrist. It also seems to prevent my hand from sliding forward onto the blade edge under slippery conditions.
By the way, Gary, thanks again black and tan lanyard you just sent me - very nice work. Now I need to figure what lanyard colors would work best for my new Snakeskin Game Warden LE.
Best to all of you, "Bloody Bill"

I use about 26" of 550 Paracord through a wooden bead with overhand knots at each end. I use beads from the local hobby shop, drilled out with a 13/64" bit to accomodate the paracord.

When the knife is in its sheath the wooden bead is up snug to the knife so there is no loop to snag. When I want to use the lanyard I simply slide the bead down to the overhand knots.

I loop the lanyard around my hand when in use:
1. Loop the end of the lanyard over your thumb with the lanyard and knife hanging on the back side of your hand.
2. Rotate your hand, away from the lanyard, and reach down with your fingers to grab knife.
3. Position for comfort.

The 26" is just perfect for my hand and allows me room for several different grips.

I like the small reflective ones mostly. They don't get in the way, and they light up at night.

However, on some choppers, I do use a longer lanyard that wraps around the outside of my hand.
