I'm kinda at a loss at what lighter to get. I want to get sepratley a torch lighter, and a soft flame lighter. I want the former to be classy and handsome, and I want the latter to be cold and cool looing. There are millions of these things though. So I ask you, what do you use to light your cigar?

I have a couple of Colibri torch lighters that work great. I prefer the torch lighters over the soft flame for lighting up my stogies. Once in a while I'll get a promotional free lighter with a box of cigars. They never seem to last long or work very good. Pure junk, no wonder they give them away:D

Where can you even seen in public with stogie?

They've pretty much banned everything around here---not that I do the bars anymore anyway---too old.

Colibri are nice, the two I have work great. I've also used Zippos, which work really well especially when on the golf course or just sitting outside.

Either matches or a Ronson jetlight. The Ronson work very well and only about $12 up here in Canada. I have heard they are more like $2-3 in the states.

I use either a Xikar or a Ronson. Ronson are cheap, reliable, can be purchased at walmart and since they are so cheap, you don't care if you lose them.

When I can, I also carry a small stripe of wood, light the wood, then the cigar. I prefer that way to any lighter, but it's not always as convenient.

I usually use matches. But when I need a lighter I use a Colibri single jet lighter. I like the pinpoint accuracy for touching up runs and then like.

Smoking is bad for you.

If someone smokes a pack a day all his life, it could give him cancer. If I smoke a cigar a month and don't inhale it, I don't think it will kill me.

Everything is a matter of level of exposure.

I hate cigarette, but you won't stop me from smoking a cigar.

I was just joking and didn't mean to offend. I should have added one of these ;).

I hate cigarettes as well and my whole family smokes heavily. I don't smoke myself but I do enjoy the smell of cigars and pipes.

I would imagin for a good cigar or occasional pipe you'd want to use a wooden match for a more "traditional" experience. Like using a proper corkscrew for a bottle of wine or a cafetiere for coffee.

It is too big for carrying around, but if you are like me, you do the vast majority of your cigar smoking at home.

Indeed, that's what they're for :P

On another forum, when a guy asked advices on a first cigar, people came with a bad attitude telling all cigar smokers that is was bad for their health and that a cigar a month could give them cancer.
