awesome I can't wait for you to do a review and tell us how the durakote holds up to abuse I am thinking about getting a 4 and I want the orange scales but do not care for the OD green so if this holds up well I might just buy it and have you re coat it in black
also how hard is it to get a cutting edge back on this I have a sharpmaker adn would hate to mess up the stones while getting the edge back on
thanks

As far as a review goes I did a half ass job of one. I took the pink and white ones I did and beat the crap out of them by battoning a log. I then stabbed it, cut it, made fuzz sticks. It held up very well. So well that I did one for another form member in pink for his wife. The great thing about duracoat is the longer it cures without use the more durable it is. Average cure time is about 3 weeks for a really durable wear. You can use it after just a few days but I recommend at a minimum of one week.

As far as sharpening goes.....I have a APEX that I use on my blades after about a day of curing. It takes the duracoat off and washes off my stones. When I do a blade for someone I will take the duracoat off the blade edge before I send it back if they want. If you don't I will send it back to you and you can do it yourself.

If anyone is interested in sending me their knife I can do that or you can purchase one from me and I will do it and send it back. Pm me if interested as my prices are on par with other online web stores.......plus the cost to duracoat......pretty reasonable in my opinion. ;)

You are correct sir! That's a Ontario RAT-3. I have a bunch of them laying around so I was experimenting with my Duracoating! ;)
