We all love our Fiddlebacks. However what cheaper or (lower) cost knife have you bought that surprised or impressed you? Say around $100 +- range.

It's a given for me that the Esee line is rock solid especially the JG3. However I bought this thin Brookshear custom at BLADE last year and I really like it. It's a thin flat grind 3/32" 1095 steel. It has one of the best grippy finishes canvas micarta handle that I have on a knife.

What's yours?

a low cost knife that surprised me the most was the terävä jääkäripuukko 110

Gerber Strongarm. Gerber doesn't seem to get much love on the forums, but I had to see for myself. Very impressive knife, especially considering the $50 I paid for it. Neither chips nor rolls were encountered. Bigger than I need to carry, so it lives in the travel trailer.

Fixed blade - LT Wright Patriot. The surprise, for me, was how much I liked it. I generally prefer larger blades, with hand filling handles; but the Patriot just works for me.
Folder - the carbon fiber Spyderco Positron, for the same reason. (Couldn't have included it due to the price; but I got mine on the exchange)

Without a doubt, it's Austin Goldman's knives. I have 3 from him, and I've been impressed with each. The B&T is the newest, and you can see his skill progression through each of the knives.

Austin makes some good knives. I have one of his first knives. Its rough, but cuts well. Would love some of his new knives. He sure has gotten better!

The Cuming Blade Works Utility has been hands down one of my favorite carry knives in quite some time and I consider it a huge bargain for what you get. Size, feel, well...utility are all perfect. I would post a picture, but I liked the knife so much I had to gift it to a friend.

This is probably my least expensive custom. A maker here by the name of Shaw made it for me, following Marchands famous leather backed epoxy wrap. It’s my only truly forged knife, 52100 1/8” tapered tang, made to my specs - 3” blade, 4” handle. It’s a laser!

I like the Roselli Carpenter Knife...

It is a basic scandi ground blade with ~3mm (.118) thick steel and ~85mm (3-3/8") blade length and ~115mm (4-1/2") handle.

There are three different variations...
R110: Basic carbon steel blade with curly birch handle ~$65.
R210: Ultra High Carbon (UHC Wootz) steel blade with heat treated birch handle ~$97.
R210S: Deluxe version with (UHC Wootz) steel blade and upgraded silver fittings and a fancier heat treated curly birch handle ~$155.
