Hey Gang!:)
Can anyone provide information about what magazines to look for? I have found some Imperial ads in early Outdoor Life. But what others?
Regards, Jerry

Jerry,
Your talking about a ton of mag's.
As Michael asks if you can give a timeframe your interested in...

Sorry, I had no idea it was going to be such a broad question. I guess all ads stopped in 2004. I am thinking about starting an archive, so any and all for now. Also to use for backdrops in a few displays I'm thinking about. Fliers and brochures are out there somewhere too. Where else besides magazines did they put their ads?
Jerry

.....obviously not enough places Jerry........
I have purchased a number of original fliers, brochures and catalogs on Ebay.Just put in Favourites..search..Schrade Brochure Catalog.......its amazing at times what it brings up. You know Schrade even put ads in our old Aussie Shooters magazines as well. Hoo Roo

Thanks Larry! I have done that eBay thing somewhat. Just the thrill of the search though, thumbing through a magazine and findling a full color page about a 15OT! THAT'S what I'm talking about!!
BTW: I didn't answer Larry or Michael's question... I rekon ads from the late fifties on, with the OT and UH line.
Jerry

Jerry,
Here is just the OT/Uh ad for 2001. Just to give you an idea of how many ad's Schrade used.

I am going to try to get readable copy from the 1998 schedule. If it doesn't work, I'll have to rescan or get lrv to post it in a thumbnail that is easier to read.

Good Grief!! Thanks you guys!!
I have never heard of some of these mag's. The quest is on!!

G'Day Bingo, I went back through my Schrade flyers and they actually put out a full color flyer with the heading "Do any of these Magazines look Familiar"?
They then show color photos of the following Magazines which may give you a few more to chase up including: Playboy September 1982, American Rifleman March 1982.Southern Outdoors April 1981,Handyman May/June 1982, Sports Afield, Mechanix Illustrated July 1982,Workbench June 1982,Field& Stream May 1981,Rodale's New Shelter July/August 1982, Gray's Sporting Journal, Progressive Farmer,Popular Mechanics,Outside,Boy's Life June 1982,Bass Master Magazine April 1982,Gun World July 1982, The National Future Farmer March 1982, Fishing Facts, Petersen's Hunting,Boating July 1982,Successful Farming,Guns & Ammo May 1982.

Were any of these magazines apart from Playboy known to you blokes?
We only had one magazine here in Australia "The Australian Womens Weekly" the only featured weapon was the rolling pin! Trust this list may help will try to post photo. Hoo Roo

That's a good list too. Yes, there are a few unknown to me. What I need to do is find out where to look around here, locally. I am wondering why most ads placed are June thru December?
Thanks for this list Larry. It's going to be a big help. YEE HAW (That's the good ole boys version of HOO ROO)

The Backpacker ads that I recall seeing were usually for the Cliphanger knives. They were, as I rememeber, column-sized ads. If I find one, I'd be happy to mail it to you.*
