When looking at the thread on top 5 steels I noticed that lots of people listed CPM3V as one of their favorites. I like it too, and have a Fehrman knife in CPM3V, and one of these days will probably get around to picking up a ZT0100 which is also CPM 3V, but beyond those two it seems that very few makers and companies offer it. Knifemaker Bill Siegel makes a few large knives, and used to offer CPM 3V but I think he has gone back to 5160. Also K9 knives, which has a forum section under Manufacturers on this site.
Given the dominance of S30V in folders it is surprising that so few fixed-blade makers use CPM 3V. Does anyone have a clue as to why this is, and who else offers blades in 3V?
