What makes a "TAC" a "TAC"?

The "Tactical" designation is one of 9 handles present in the new line.

Assault Shaker - small skeletonized 3 finger design
Skeleton Key - Skeletonized "Pen Knife" type handle, thin but secure. helps to have it wrapped.
Active Duty - from between the old and new lines. has a finger swell, and a heavy palm swell positioned towards the back of the handle spine.
Meaner Street - a slightly modified active duty handle
Game Warden - A taller, less lengthy, and less severely curved handle thats slightly similer to the active duty. it is a 4 finger grip handle, meant to maintain small size, but provide secure grip.
Tactical - a straight handle that has a palm swell as well as finger swell, and skull crusher pommel
Special Forces - a semi straight handle, with a slight dip at the pommel. the pommel is a mix of a flat ergo style pommell capable of hammering with, and the localized pressure point style of the fusion. the tips are rounded on the pommel, and there are 3 of them. It is the plainest grip of the new line, with a very slight set of palm swells.
Fusion - a mixture of the old straight handle, and the newer ergo handles. there is a noticable palm swell on the top and bottom, with a curve at the bottom fo the handle. it has a skull crusher reminiscent of the birds beak pommels. the handle scales fearue 2 seperate patterns, one waved like the active duties (near the top for added grip), and the other (near the bottom to lighten friction during chopping) is quilted diamonds like the ergo handles.
AK47 - a long striaght sword handle with a fusion style pommel.

As to what makes it more tactical then the others? I have no idea.

The special forces handle may have been dubbed as such because it was designed for a specific team. The Tac handles have an advantage for me over the older handels becasue they are less slip prone due to their general geometry. the area for you index finger to rest on is thick, allowing a tighter more secure grip. the dual palm swells are enough that you have a grippable surface on both sides of the knife, but it is not so much that it hurts the metacarpals as you squeeze hard. The skull crusher pommel is not the best for hammering, but its capable of doing it, and can still be used in a hammer fist for self defence. There is a slight swell on the top to act as an upper gaurd, wich is found on the tac, sf, fusion, and ak47 handles. Given its two palm swells, its easier to use in a reverse grip then the older handles, If not the easiest of the new line. I would say that the one detriment it has over the ergo and 3rd gen handles is that it may be a little harder to index whether the edge is up or down in a blind situation.

I beleive that it is every modification has increased its ability for tactical use and deployment over the older 3rd gen striaght handles. Its a better grip, it's more secure, and its easier to grip immediately.

I wonder if I should add the handle model types to the acronyms list....

I said that I didnt want to give a model by model description because it would make the overall size of the list to big, but.... I like the looks of it now that its in print... ONE OF THESE DAYS..... somebodies gonna have to make a magazine sized photo book with all the variations and models and historical information.....

It is a pointy bugger isn't it? As far as I know it is just the designation for that particular handle style.
