Hey guys,

I'm hoping to score the Nuclear BATAC from the Ganza and it got me thinking ... what makes this one Nuclear??

I believe it's the spine swedge (hollow ground?) with the vertical serrations. Search for Nuke Heart on the Busse forum. This BATAC is sweet looking. Hope you get one.

That is a good one.

I had one on my list until I ran a quick total.

Didn't need to spend $4000, so I had to drop a few off.

wow, LE thickness would be amazing!!! who else went for this one?? I expect it to be popular, no??

nuclear is in reference to the full length sharpened spine. in the past I've only really seen nuclear applied to those knives which have hollow ground fully sharpened spines, as apposed to those who have swedge type spines, or band cutters.

"nuke hearts" and other "nuclear" variations can come with or without serrations.

or so I've come to understand it....

The nuclear have serrations that are 90 degrees to the blade.

Flying has serrations that at acute the point of the blade (obtuse the the handle).

So far, I have seen you, Irezumi and myself that went for #14. I am sure many more made the request and have not posted it here in the forums. Wish you both luck. I posted the second that I saw the Go button, but being in Afghanistan on Haji-net, It could have taken some time for my email to arrive at the Busse inbox. My second choice for this pick was the even more popular Blue/Black SFNO. Not getting the Nuke BATAC makes it even less likely that I will get the SFNO. My strategy may have skunked me on this one. Some you win...some you don't.

When ever I leave the city, I wear my Hell Razor on my kit. We did an OP the other day with British SBS....awesome guys (world class warriors). They we quite curious over the hell razor and I had to pull it out more than once to explain what Busse and INFI are.

Do you think there is only 1 ??

It's the nicest badger I've ever seen - would make quite the partner to the LE !!!

Hey Headkicker...if I don't get it...I hope you do bro. Say g'day to any Aussies you meet over there. We lost a couple of good ones over the last couple of weeks. Btw, my timestamp was 9.26.17 ....

Taliban is fighting to take back Kandahar and all coalition forces are taking losses daily. I have met a couple Aussies at the chow hall, but nothing more than small talk. We work with the ODAs (SF) and UK a bunch and I can't say enough good things about them.

Of the three of us I am sure one or two of us scored the Nuke Badger. I thought is was the nicest blade offered at this Ganza. If I did get lucky, mine will go to OKUDEN. The retention on his sheaths has spoiled me. No more can I go back to the days of multiple hand draws and returns of my knife. The snap (from retention) of his sheath still brings a smile to my face knowing that my knife will be there when I need it...and I can get it and return it with one hand.
