It is a WWII.
If you look under the purple stuff (whatever that is) on one side or the other there will be the mark of the kami that made it.

Notice how he puts a little chamfer on the point where the edge of the blade meets the cho. It's not likely that a person would cut himself on that point, but visually it shows great attention to detail.
