I have a little Spyderco that my first wife got me for Christmas about 20 years ago. Can anybody tell me what this is? I cannot find it. These are scans with a ruler. It is a little knife but very nice. All stainless and much brighter in person that these scans would indicated.

Please comment. Thanks.

This is the model C04 Executive and produced from 1983-1984 in both plain edge and serrated. Quite rare but they do pop up for sale every now and then. I was able to obtain one and use it in my EDC rotation.

More info can be found at the Spyderco Source page.

Update: Corrected production dates.

Well, the first Mrs. was long gone by 1999, having shown me the door in 1993. So this would be more like 1988 - 1992 timeframe.

But that sure is it.

Thanks for spotting it. It was a typo. Upon further research, it was produced much earlier. Made updates and posted a link to my original post.

Definitely an Executive and, while the model was produced from '83 to '93, yours is almost certainly from the late 80's or very early 90's. The earlier ones did not have a beveled edge on the handle. The ones from around '92 on had at "G-2 STAINLESS" steel marking on the tang.

Thanks all. The scanner and my attempts to clean up the picture with PS have resulted in kind of a funky picture. I am going to get some proper photographs of this up tonight. It is very shiny although there are certainly EDC scratches and whatnot on the stainless scale...just not to the degree that you see above. The blade, while EDC'd for quite awhile, have never really been used hard at all and never resharpened. I mean I have cut the plastic on some CDs, mabye cut the tape on a package or two but that's about it.
