Well I thought id share what I got from my girlfriend for Christmas. Its the hk14200. We went to the knife shop and I picked it out. I was not, however, able to have it until a week later when we exchanged gifts. It was really difficult time for me as you can probably imagine, lol.

This knife is by far the smoothest axis lock I have ever had. Everything about this knife is HEAVY. Feels super solid in the hand. I could do a formal review if there is enough want for one. I love it. Sorry im not that good at taking pictures, so dont be too hard on me :)

Very nice looking knife and pics. Love the Axis lock. Sounds like you've got a great GF, too.

caution....my buddy had a gf do the same thing for him last year. it was a bitter breakup after 2 years this past summer and now he refuses to even dispay the knife nevermind carry it...
great lookning knife tho.

Wow, I just looked up the retail price on your gifts kirko and trimcut. Very nice presents indeed!

I just wish they'd make the G-10 version in a mini! I love my 14210. I really wouldn't mind having a second one in grippy textured G-10 like that one, no recurve, but mini sized like the 14210.

IMO, that knife would be the high-end Mini Griptilian. Benchmade ought to consider making high-end Griptilians and Mini Griptilians with similar construction.

Congrats on the knife and the girlfriend--looks like you've found a catch. And your photography skills are pretty darn good!

This knife pretty much defines what I would want in a high end grip...
The g-10 is very comfortable... Im getting some 3d blue and black g-10 to redo mine in...

I would say the ONLY thing I worry about holding up in the long run with this knife is the rubber grip.... I absolutely love the thick stainless liners, they are quite large and heavy, and I love heavy folders if there is a reason for it...

Trimcut, if you go on with making a g10 handle for yours, make sure let me know, I may have to buy a set from you

I will be sure to let you know... I will attempt the first set by the end of the month...
I had your model for about 2 years.. And it held up great...

Trimcut, I was also wondering about the pocket clip. I usually always take mine off of my knives, but i wanted to put this one back on, but it seems the rubber sorta squishes when you tighten it down. Is this normal? And did it ever tear or make cracks on the rubber because of it? I would like to know what kind of rubber (synthetic) it is if anyone knows off hand.

Here is another picture with my Pardue Grip for comparison.

Yes, the rubber squished a little bit on mine too.. But never did the rubber rip or crack on me... It is a softer rubber... And was very durable .. Never had any problems with it.. But you could always let warranty cover that... you shouldn't worry about it at all...

That HK model just doesn't get enough publicity. It is about the perfect size, has great ergos, and of course a very smooth axis lock action. The blade shape fits the bill for just about every application. 154CM is very good steel although not as popular with all the new wonder steels today. I had one of the rubber handled ones when they first came out and traded it. I think I need to find one of the G-10 version. Very nice.

I would think the rubber handled one would have the better grip, both look great! But the one without the G-10, just catches my eye.

The rubber is grippy... Only gripe would be that it gets sticky in the pants....:D

W&C material if I ever heard it. I would imagine rubber would make for a great grip; wet, dry, hot, or cold. I wouldn't want to stuff that in a pocket though, might make a good camp knife? One where you wouldn't pocket it.
