What my Wingman did today

I took down the Christmas lights today and found my new Wingman pretty handy. I usually carry more tools for the job but this was all I needed today. I pulled out the staples, tightened down a few things, broke down some boxes and had a beer. Not bad for a multitool I picked up for only $19.00 at Home Depot on Black Friday

Wingman is awesome. One of my favorite MTs b/c of the tools it has plus the price.
gg tool for gift purposes.

I like my wingman too, the pliers are robust and just about anything else in it's price range is either junk or much smaller/weaker.

Great stuff, nice photos. And good taste in beer too. But alas, a few of those pictures show why I'm a Victorinox guy and not a Leatherman guy....I can't stand the idea of having to unfold every time I need to get to a tool!

Thanks for the report.

Good to know the Wingman is a decent worker along with its low price.

I've also got a Swisstool and a Leatherman Ti Charge but I've been carrying the Wingman lately because I dont really care if I lose it, it's my Throw-down multitool and I'm not as stressed out that I'll mess it up.

Exactly the reason I picked one up, and its now where I can get to it easily.
Picked up a Sidekick also, but I sort of stuck it away with my other MTs.

Nice choice with the arrogant bastard
Agreed:)

I was actually coming to post a mini-review of my own Wingman that I got for Christmas. I actually asked for it out of curiosity more than anything. I have enough light-medium duty multi-tools to last me several lifetimes. I was actually a little worried as some of the reviews have been less than glowing.

I have to say, what are some of the nit-pickers expecting out of a $30 American made tool? I was actually pleasantly surprised to blown away by the quality of the Wingman. The knife blade locks up tight, it has those great bronze bushings, and the scissors engage just fine if you make sure to press them all the way forward. All of the non-locking tools seem more than capable. Any dad with a kids NEEDS that package opener for the clamshell packaging and ties:D

I will say that while the spring loaded pliers are nice, the wire smashers...I mean cutters are pretty lack luster. They work just fine, but certainly aren't my favorite. However, for day to day, they are more than OK:)

In short, I LOVE the Wingman. It gives me the tool set of my Fuse with the fast access of my Skeletool. For under $30, it's a great price point tool. Some would call it "entry level". I would just call it a good value EDC with the perfect amount of tools/trade-off to get stuff done. I plan on getting a Sidekick in the near future :)
