I bought my first benchmade in about 10 years this week ( a 531) and was wondering what the good people here think I should look at next.

Some of the things I really like about the 531:
- Size, my EDC before this has been a Spyderco dragonfly but I want a little more blade length.
- Weight, this feels very light for what I would call a medium sized folding knife.
-Axis lock, seems very secure and easy to clean.

Some of the things I have avoided:
- Too heavy in the pocket. I work in an office and wear dress pants most days. I don't need to advertise that I have a pocket knife.
- Blade steels that are too hard to sharpen. I have stones and ceramic rods. Most of the time I use the bottom of a coffee cup as I don't let my knives get too dull.

All that being said what others should I be looking at? Thank all of you benchmade experts in advance.

Hey jsg! Let me be the first to urge you to grab a 94x!! Perfect for dress pants and EDC!!
Here's a pic of 2 of mine. Scales by DOAT.

Sounds like the 531 is a good choice for you. I been EDCing a 531 for about a year now. 154cm is pretty easy to sharpen. The only thing lighter would be a 530 with the nylon handles.

Thank you both and yes I do like the 531.

Billym, mine looks exactly like the one on the far right in your picture.

Palonej,. I have thought about a 940 in the past but the size has made me shy away from it. I might just have to go to the store and hold one.

When you check it out, bring your 531 and lay them side by side. Not too much difference and perfect in pocket!
I'll try to get a pic with my 530 alongside a 940 for you.
