Hi
Just wondering if all the one-piece fans died or something. I'm not a fan of folders, I have a few tucked here and there, but fixed blades are my thing. I own 5 CR fixed blade and they are great. I would just like to see more discussion on the fix blade line for a change. Just my opinion. thanks.

SFDEFENDER,

Hey, I'm with you! I only have two folders, one of which is the small, Sebenza. I think that CR makes excellent using fixed blades. I have the Mountaineer 1 and love it, I have two custom kydex sheaths for mine and it stays in my Jeep.

I think that the A-2 steel used in these blades is awesome for a steel! It sharpens to that legendary "scary" sharpness and holds an edge. I have the Edge Pro and it is really something getting a mirror finish on that black, coated blade! It is beautiful. The knife is made for using and that is exactly what I do!
Folders are not my thing....a neck knife is just as handy and so much more rigid and you don't have to worry about clean-up after using it for some messy job.
Which model do you prefer? Do you have any custom fixed blades other than Reeve? Thanks!

Hi larry
I own a project 1 and 2, shadow IV, and MKVI and an older tanto. I have kydex and concealex sheaths made by scott hendyx and on/scene tactical, both great sheath makers. I have been collecting knives for about 25 yrs. I'm a big fan of randalls, they are the heart of my collection, but I have one's made by wayne hendrix, jeff hollett, russ easler, walt harless, ray ennis, ed caffery, pat crawford just to name a few. what do you have in your collection? Al

The CR Project I is my absolute favorite fixed blade..
It is made for heavy use..
Holds a fantastic edge and performs like no other..
Of course I have several personal CR fixed blades which I use often..
I utilize my P1 the most..

The CRK Project I is my favorite; thanks to Murray at Proedge.

I have an Aviator. It's a little smallish and I plan to get it a big brother. Still, it's a neat little general purpose knife.

Have been a big fan of the Project I for a couple of years now. You all know the story, scrimp & save for that one blade you feel you really want. Well, I was already to finally commit to the Project I, when, what happens? I catch wind of this monster called the Shadow I and the fact that CRK was running a batch of them. Guess where my dollars went! An absolutely awesome knife! Why is it when I finally get the cash to scratch a particular itch, something new comes along? Funny thing is, I still have this urge for a Project I/Concealex combo and the pot is building once again. Then maybe a Shadow IV, Mountaineer, Jereboam II.......

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Hi guys
thanks for the inputs, I bought my P-1 and concealex sheath from you murray. I can't say enough about murray and his ways of business and prices. I just wish I had more money for more knives from you. well I got a promotion last week so maybe that will change. I'm sorry I missed out on the big shadows, they look like some awesome blades. Maybe I will get my hands on one someday. thanks guys. Al

I guess the one-piece users just don't crow about theirs. I do not have any CRK, but after reading Cliff Stamp's review, I've decided that I need to put a one-piece on the docket for this year. (Like I need another belt knife!)

I own a Shadow IV and it is by far the best fixed blade knife in my modest collection. Great user and totally dependable.
I do plan to get a Project 1 and will be putting it to great use once I get it.
Now to scrimp and save.

I am a new CR fan; just aquired a Mountaineer 1 and a MKVI

In the near future I want to get a Project, but am undecided on which one at the moment.
Great knives and nice people!

I'm also a fan of the One Piece Range. I like them all and, being a dealer, that makes it dangerous. I'm tempted to keep them instead of sell them.

So far, I've managed to resist the urge to pull one of each for my own collection but, with the delivery of the large models it's getting tougher.

I'm safe on the Shadow I, the Jereboam and Tanto....I have South African models of those (they're MINE!

) but the Sable I and the new Triple Grind dagger (I don't remember the Zulu name for it) are going to be a serious problem.

I will definitely pull a 3G and will probably end up with a sable too. Gotta have all five. I'll just have to get a larger display case made.

How much on an improvement in regards to chopping is the large Shadow as compared to the Project I?

I have a couple of Sebenza's and they are some of the very finest knives made anywhere. I'm seriously thinking of picking up a Sable... I think it has the most practical and usable blade geometry of the entire one piece line.

The blade on the Shadow I is proportionally larger in width and thickness than the Project I but the handle is the same size as the P-I. Good heft and blade-forward weight. That makes it a very efficient chopper.

I've owned a Project II for years. I haven't had the need to buy another field knife since.

I would love to buy another knife, because I'm interested in them. But then again I would probably buy a Project I.

THough I like folding knives too, Sebenza was not for me, donno, but I've returned mine the very next day I got it.
Howeer I do like CRK one pieces

The Shadow IV is the best camping knife I have ever used. A little thick for food prep, but overall a great knife. I can see me getting more CR One Piece knives.
