what NOT to do with the SEAL revolver

i was out on camping/flyfishing excursion this past weekend and was splitting some kindling with my revolver and a baton. what you don't want to do is push the retaining button on the handle with your pinky finger, unless of course you want some staggard pinholes in your palm from the saw blade. boy did i feel like an idiot. oh btw after splitting some oak and pine, i could still shaved hair off my arm.

Web2, I've never been able to do that, and I have really tried ! :D The thing I can't figure, is how I could get my pinky separated from my other fingers wide enough to allow pin and rocker arm to rise up and out of handle.

Every time I try this my other fingers won't allow the rocker to rise up because of pressure pushing down from three other fingers. And I can not get my pinky into the hole to release it at that angle.... :D

Glad to hear it stayed sharp for you though. :D

YIKES!!!! I bet that hurt REAL bad. Like Robbie said though, I dont think I could do that even if I tried. Only way I could see it happening is if you are left handed.

And yes..... That steel holds one scary sharp edge.:D

hmmmph...... that would never happen with a fixed blade SOG.

which is why a fumble-fingers like myself doesn't have nor get near folders/spinners/rotaters..... long sordid story in my case.

Cheers and Happy Recovery,

Carl

i was holding the knife handle in my left hand and batoning with my right. my left hand was farther back on the handle, and somehow opened that release.

Web2, I have got bit by the saw a couple times when sawing, once it went completly through really fast and my other hand was partially under the saw blade, needless to say, it left a few teeth marks on the top of my hand.

Hopefully there won't be a next time.................

I heard that the Seal revolver was safer if it was in the right hand as it won't press the button...i have batoned wood with my left hand useing my revolver, that hasn't happened yet...

can i ask how did you press the button with your pinky? As i speak my revolver is in my hand, if ur holding it with ur left aren't the middle and other finger on the button?i am just asking so that it won't happen to me

i think i had my hand way back on the handle and somehow managed to push that button. i was looking at my knife the other day trying to figure out how i did that and that is all i could come up with.

Great! I'm left handed..:)

I've also been bit a couple of times,,however those were from trying to use the Revolver with some balisong moves..:)
Doesn't work the best..LOL

Eric...

I am predominatley a left handed person and I still have no idea how the button got pushed. I even put my pinky awkwardly on the button and pushed, i could barely push it against the spring tension.

Cheers,

Guard....
