Curious what you use to protect your Spyderco knives and where you buy it.

If you have a particular way you apply it to your knives, feel free to share that as well! :)

For fixed blades, I tend to use Sentry Solutions. Aplied over the entire knife (haven't yest used the Kumo, but I'd use some leather protetant on the stingray skin)

For folders, I've used 3-in-1 in a pinch, Sentry Solutions and Chris Reeve Silicon Lube. Nothing truly special.

For a polish and shine, Flitz or Metal Glo works great.

The CR Lube is available at his webpage.
Flitz is available places online, sometimes at Home Depot or Kmart.

All else is at Bladeforums favorite, New Graham Knives.

Hope this helps.

I use BreakFree CLP. Why? I have a large can on my work bench for my firearms. If it works to lube semi autos, it is fine for a little ole knife.

Yep! on the BreakFree CLP on my blades and I have also protected my 1095's with Remoil and it worked well in the generally dry area where I live.

Once a year I drop a wee bit of Rem oil onto the joint of my Spydies. It's pretty taxing so I generally need another year to rest up! :p I got the Rem oil at Wal Mart (I think) and bought it because I'd seen it recommended here on bladeforums.

For knives I handle and use regularly, plain old mineral oil - called paraffin where I come from. For knives that I don't use much and are rust prone, I coat them in Lanolin Grease. I live in an extremely humid environment and find this works ok. I use the same stuff on the moving parts and the exposed metal parts.

from a diferent perspective, i usually don't use at all

i just keep them clean and dry bu using hot water and a cloth to wipe and dry

i only use oil for the pivot when my knife has gotten seriously gunked up, for example when it has been laying deep in the dirt in the woods during camping. then i first clean and dry it, and apply a tiny bit of rifle-oil or WD40, or any other oil that'll do, to the pivot

Dupont----has a new one- small btl about 4oz very slippery when applied and light weight---dries really fast with no residue.....its called Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant- (sets up dry) Goes on very slippery and wet then dries with a slight film....I've used it alot and works great! NO black messy drips! Lowes or Home Depot.....about $5.00 I would say this one should be in everyones knife closet.

Militec on ALL of my knives. Rem-oil works really well too, It's good stuff for lock backs. It's light so it gives a nice even layer. Get a can of compressed air (any office supply store) and hit it quick to blow out extra lube. Your knives will be smooooth.
