What other Blade forums do you participate in and why?

I was once lost but now I'm found. I used to think that I was different from other people because my knife collection and fascination grew over the years. I sometimes surprised myself with the number of blades that I had accumulated, thinking that there was something wrong with me (I keep asking myself: why did I have so many? why did I need all of these?)

Then I stumbled into these forums. I feel at home now and not so different. I mostly read other people's posts and have learned a great deal and have gone on into other areas where my interests have been further peaked.

I tend now to hang out at the general discussion area, Gear & Gadgets forums. Also my spending on knifes and related gear has skyrocketed since I've been here (There ought to be a forum for controlling the knife addiction).

Reading about where others like to hang out has opened my mind to many new aspects of blades, where do you post and why do you go there?

I hang around here mostly for the general forums and auto forums. And I often visit the community and knifes for sale forums, and the individual manufacturers forums when I have specific questions.
I also spend alot of time at www.knifeforums.com mostly for the Microtech Forums (their most popular forum I think), they also have a sheath making forum too I like.
There are alot of great people on both boards, and alot of the same people too!

I also spend quite a bit of time at www.thefiringline.com for my first love...guns

Welcome to BFC!!!!

It sure is a good feeling when you first find this place. Your post sure hit the nail on the head. I thought that I was the only "knifefreak" in the world. Now I'm a "knifeknut" amongst many and I don't feel so strange anymore.
I like your idea for a "knifeaholics forum". The only problem is that I'm not so sure that many here would participate.

As for which forums do I partake. I would have to say that I leave very few out. I spend the most time monitoring Blade Discussion, Community, Knife Reviews & Testing, Bernard Levine's forum, GB&U, and of coarse W&C. Most of the other forums I just lurk for info. (Especially the Custom Forum....I just can't open up that can of worms quite yet)

I like to check-out the "For Sale" forums. It gives me an idea of what's going on in the "knife community".

I also hang-out at the "REKAT" (right now, my favorite brand of knives

), and "Blade Discussion" forums, as well as "Gadgets & Gear".

When I'm not here at BladeForums, I'm either at KnifeForums, or Glock Talk, as I'm a moderator at both of those web-sites.

Oh yeah, I can't believe that I forgot to mention that other knife site KFC but I see that our fellow forumite Kingknives beat me to the punch anyway.

I like to check out the Sheahmaking 101, Keeping Sharp, W.R. Case & Sons, & Marble's Arms forums. All good!!!

I drop in at Knife Forums (Tom and Jerry's and Tom's) and CKD. (I have been known to hang around just about anywhere people are posting about customs.) TKCL is a great email discussion group where there are a lot of close friends, but as Phil said the pace around here is constantly faster.

Here at BFC I usually check General, Community, Politics, Knife Laws, REKAT, Spyderco, Reviews, Practical Tactical, and lately AKTI about or at least once a day.

I go by Gadgets, CRK, BUCK, Camillus, Custom, Auto, Bali, the Gallery, What's New, W&C, & Busse at least once a week.

The only non-BFC forum I post on is the BM forum.

I do lurk at the Spydie forum, GT, TFL, KFC, and sometimes others once in a while.

When I have even more time to kill I read through the archives here.

Within BFC, I always check in on the General Discussion, Swords, REKAT, Spyderco, Political, and Community Forums. I also sporadically look at the others, but not regularly. I also regularly participate in NetSword.com and in SwordForum.Com, but more from an historical perspective that as a sword owner. Once in a while, i look in on KFC, but not too regularly, similarly, I check in on the Benchmade and Spyderco sites' forums very sporadically.

I tend to check out the daily posts and follow interesting topics whatever the forum, until the list gets too long or the server too slow.
I sometimes look at several other sites, including Knifeforums, Busse's and more, but this site is, far and away, the best for general knife discussion and exchange.
 
Generally at Benchmade Forum as that's my major collecting interest. Primarily I hang out there to monitor "Easyrider" !!

I check knifeforums because of the excellently moderated forsale forums. Yea, there's a couple of trolls (Ghostsix) and a couple of crooks (Docbart), it still a mostly good place to visit. At least there are no adolescent moderators.
