I had an old pearl Schrade Walden pocket knife it looks like a a 3 blade Splitback Whittler pattern 'cept the one small blade is a nail file, (it looks like the tip of the file blade broke off, probably the cuticle cleaner), I'll get some pics up as soon as I get some batteries for my camera.

The scales were chipped and cracked so I replaced them with ivory veneer from some old piano keys I had, I'll post some pics of the new scales after I remake a new pair but for now I'm just curious about the pattern and if any one had a pic of the pattern with the full length file on it.

C'mon Codger, I know you have the answer... ;):)

Equal end with tip bolsters and an oval shield a little over 3" closed with a 2 7/8 main spear blade, a little under 5" open.

Thanks for the link I'll go look and see if I can find it and thanks for narrowing it down for me.

We have to go way back for genuine pearl, mid fifties at least. Is it serpentine, sleeveboard, equalend? Length? Have a look thru the 1954 catalog and see if you can spot it.

Without a picture, it is the old "I have a knife in my pocket...whutizzit?" question. Welcome to the Schrade collectors' forum!

Michael

I know, pics help, I figured if I have enough info it might have struck a chord.

As soon as I get batteries for the camera I'll post some pics, it's just a shame that the pearl was in such bad shape, I'll put the pearl pieces back on for the pics.

The closest is the 842 Senator the only difference is that the nail nick on the file is a lot farther back and the file is far from flexible...

Is it anything like the top knife in this picture? (disregard the main blade, that was reprofiled) That has a split back spring...

That looks identical in configuration the only notable exception is the one I have had a nickel silver oval shield and the bolsters are tip bolsters instead of full but other than that it looks identical, even the swedge on the main blade looks the same.

So what's the pattern?
